  1. I would like to get better fuel mileage in my 1988 Jeep Comanche that has a 4.0 liter engine and a 4 speed auto transmission I currently get 15 M.P.G. driving to and from work Any help would be appreciated :D :wrench:
  2. :jump: Eureka!!!! It works now. Now for the details, I pulled apart the front connector that goes to the lights in the front and whadyaknow it was all corroded so much so that it couldn't be fixed unless it was replaced sooo I replaced that and also found several crimp connectors that were bad ( solder is the better choice in my opinion ) and also a broken wire to the back I hope this helps someone else also :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench:
  3. I drive a '88 Xj 4.0 and my co-worker saw it and kinda liked it so then about a month ago he wrecked his Dodge 1500 sport with a gas guzzling 360 V8 putting him in the market for a new truck. So his brother has a '87 Comanche 2.5 liter short bed 2x4 stick shift with about 200xxx miles on it. it's pretty much rust free. and he's wanting $1200 for it is that a good price? :dunno: I don't want him to do this to me :thwak: if I recommend it and it turns out to not be as good as a deal. :
  4. Thanks I'll check those things. then I'll be doing this> instead of this> :wall:
  5. #1- Pull Up That carpet! Pull up that carpet! Pull up that carpet! My floor is rusted through in several places. because somebody didn't check it :thwak: #2- if when you try to rev up it coughs and sputters and tries to die, check the fuel filter #3- if you find a Comanche in a junkyard see if you can buy it for parts  #4- cussing doesn't help you fix your Jeep
  6. Well it's not a 5 speed so it isn't that either. Its an auto on the column. Thanks.
  7. I have a '88 Comanche and a '82 Datsun 810D Maxima with a 2.8 liter 6 cylinder diesel and I am thinking about putting the diesel in the Comanche. just seeing if there is any one that has done that and if there are any suggestions. (needs some black smoke behind that one) :typing: this isn't me :hateputers: that one is more like it
  8. I need some input. I have a '88 Comanche 4X4 4.0 liter long bed. and only the drivers side rear turn signal and brake light works. Let me start from the beginning. When I got the truck about a month ago it needed some work (fuel tank, broken tail light, shocks, tune up, wind shield) so I replaced those things. the day after I replaced the fuel tank and wind shield I replaced the tail light. then when I went to check the lights I noticed that the front turn signals didn't work. So, I got some bulbs and put them in (after cleaning the sockets just in case) then the passenger side front worked. Then I tried to get the drivers side front to work but, then the drivers side quit altogether then I got it back working BUT,then the passenger side quit :fs2: and I wasn't able to get it working again <<<<< Here's what I need to be able to do
