  1. I'm using an AX15 with a Novak adapter to a Chevy bellhousing. I'm using truck manifolds that I cut and welded. They weld really nice actually. I tried some other manifolds, but these looked like the best fit. Maybe the new cast Hooker manifolds would fit, but I'm cheap. Thanks for the comments guys.
  2. Aweome!! What are your plans, keep the truck accessories and run an LS1 intake?
  3. Finally some progress. Picked up a blown up LS1 from motorhed and swapped the intake and accessories onto my LM7, then lobbed the hot mess into the 'manche bay. The power steering lines even bolted right up. They look a bit pretzel so I'll be modifying them. Manifolds fit. I guess I'll cancel my order for a four inch cowl hood. Damn pro street lifted Jeeps are in too. :bacon: :yay:
  4. Thanks, I'm pretty excited for the detail work, but there are bigger projects. Started on the LED housings.
  5. Yay hole sawing through unibody rails! Welded in inserts for long arm brackets. and I got tired of taking photos and put the damn thing together. I like it. It's looking about right, maybe lower it a bit. The Cherokee had a Marilyn stencil on the hood that my friend and I did in college, I wanted to do something similar on the Comanche so he designed this Of course it started a theme. Gun gussets!
  6. Anyone need a boat anchor? I love that grill. Screw you brackets. Getting somewhere.
  7. Thanks man Mini monster truck!!! :drive: Swapped the rear axle over to the Comanche, left it sprung over for now, waiting to see how the front sits before I decide whether to leave it sprung over and take some leaves out or spring it under and use my lift shackles.
  8. I've been heming and hawing over when to take my Cherokee apart so I can swap stuff over to the Comanche. It would help to have axles and suspension underneath it to mock everything up. Well..... I took the Cherokee out for a little romp today and flipped her onto her lid. I guess it's time. The most comfortable roll ever. She just leaned over. I'll say this, harnesses are awesome, and the Comanche is going to have more cage. :poke:
  9. I agree about the back window, I'm going to punch through the cab over the window. I should do gutter sliders too, the XJ has plenty of dents up there
  10. I've been into the black IPA's recently, Stone's Sublimely Self Righteous is a good example. I brewed up two different batches of Black IPA and I really like the malt backbone with the floral hop bitterness coming through in the finish....
  11. I hate the cage going farther back than the wheel wells too, looks like a 4runner without a top or something. Blaaa. I like your shock cage, clean and simple. I'm thinking of copying this setup though.
  12. I'm trying to figure out exactly what I want, does anyone have pics of their cages?
  13. Bed is back on the 'Manche I'm thinking of starting on the cage next, but I'm not sure if it should go into the bed or not. I want as much useable bed space as possible, and my shock cage is going to take a good bit of that already.
  14. Thanks guys, it's not perfect by any means, but with the v8 it won't be sitting still long enough to tell.
  15. White!! Dents and all. Dimples FTW Look at that... welder. It's not mint, but it's white. :yay:
  16. 'd Cut a piece out of a keg and TIG'd the EGR hole up. Sandblast the ol money pit door. Exhaust has clearance!! Stripping paint is not as cool as real stripping. Bought some product, more stripping and paint prep first though.
  17. Thanks man, I like to have some decent photos, but I get lazy every now and again and forget the big camera. Suspension should be fairly straightforward, with a few cool touches. I'm trying to get the bed painted this week.
  18. We only had an hour, but I think we got quite a bit done. By we I mean Johnny, although I did cut the offending rusty corner off.
  19. Today we started on the bed corner, which was dented pretty badly and rotted as well. Nothing a flat piece of metal couldn't fix, once it was power hammered, planished and whatnot. What's this little toy over in the corner?
  20. Putting some work in on the bed. Did a half @$$ job of gluing it back together and then brought it over to my cousin's shop for some more bodywork. More to come tomorrow. :yay:
  21. The hangover seems similar enough to not matter much. Interior of the XJ. I hope to salvage the main hoop with the harness bar.
  22. Thanks! It just looks funky with the the control arms still on. I'm going to measure my XJ main hoop and see how close it will be
