  1. Okay. Project is slowly being started again. First off, per request, the apartment. Since it´s offtopic I´m only giving you links to the images. A couple of weeks into the build(April 2010): http://www.pogostickoffroad.com/wwwbilder/comanchebuildup/lgh1.jpg When my family bought the place this loft had floor over everything you see in the picture. The floor was place in two levels with about 4 inches between them. Highest to lowest points (whole area) was 8 inches. The whole area ofr the build is about 12x6 meters. This is today, bathroom not shown: http://www.pogostickoffroad.com/wwwbilder/comanchebuildup/lgh2.jpg http://www.pogostickoffroad.com/wwwbilder/comanchebuildup/lgh3.jpg http://www.pogostickoffroad.com/wwwbilder/comanchebuildup/lgh4.jpg Its not finished, but almost. We moved in just before new years eve. So to the manche. Not very much have happened since last, but at least it´s now started. Rusty had been sitting out back for almost a year, so little help from mogwai was needed: First thing I did was loosening the bed and temporarily fastened the tank, so I can move him around a bit longer. During some problemsolving, I discovered someone had earlier been messing around. Some people shouldn´t be alowed to open the hood at all. It was much worse around the fuse block. Even more relays and tons of splicing. When I messed around under the bed I got curious as to what this metal rod is for. Anyone know? Fell off when I took off the bed anyway. Bed off Donor vehicle found a new resting place as well. Tires are moved up to May/June for various reasons. There will be no cabswitch, can´t justify it, I´m going to practice my repairing skills instead. Hopefully that will be started in just over a week. Until next time... Cheers Daniel
  2. The ground wire it was! :D I think the reason it still ran when all the wires were disconnected is that somehow there is still some ground left. I could still measure resistance enough to make it fishy, but small enough so that it would run if it wanted to, even with the bed completely off, as it is now. So what it all boils down to is probably mourning. The day the manche stopped starting was the same day my WJ diesel made it´s last breath just a couple a meters from it. (Crank seized, only available jy engine 4000$, so I´m trading it as is for a overhauled old policevolvo) Thanks for the help guys! Really helped me cut down faultfinding time. Cheers!
  3. Thank you guys! That was really helpful. Last time it ran it was when I moved it so that I could lift of the bed. Everything was already loose from the bed then. But it was hard to start, so I think I´m starting with the ground. Another quick question. The fuse that says haz/stop, whats it for? It´s shorted, but I haven´t paid it much attention since it doesn´t seem to have anything to do with drivetrain running. Cheers Daniel
  4. Hi people! I´m having trouble with the fuel pump on my -88 4.0 manche Which fuse is it the pump uses, and also, which relay? I´m lacking a bit on dokumentation, as you might suspekt. Any pictures would be awsome :D Thanks in advance! Daniel Sweden
  5. In sweden: 2.2/L or 8.3/gallon Before the end of the year they estimate it will have reached almost 3/L or roughly 12/gallon
  6. Got a donor vehicle for the -97 upgrade: Plan is to cut the comanche cab in half and replace it with the newer half. First I removed some parts: cut it in half: Removed some bits that might be useful at some point ...and the the rest went to the scrapyard So this is where I´m at right now. The engine is sitting in my workshop since an earlier abandoned project and the tires will be bought in December. What I´m saving up for right now is the axles. I am currently building an apartment in a barn, but when that´s finished. I will start work on the cabswitch.
  7. Hello from Sweden! I might as well start a project thread even though it might take a while before I have time to work on it again. The Jeep is a -88 (I think) and has so far been modified, by previous owner, with bigger exhaust tip, rustholes aaaand nothing else. The plan as it is today points towards this: Facelift to -97 cherokee Dodge Durango -99? Magnum v8 with automatic and nv242 2 steering unimog 404's with 37" Cooper STT Shortened frame behind cab, with homemade bed. F/R 1-link suspension with complete underside skidplates Exo-cage Here it is as it sits today: This is a portion of my inspiration. This one sits on 42's though
  8. Hi fellas! New in here, but I already like it. Now, I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of a comanche with 37" tires? If it´s shortened in the bed as well, that would be even better. I´m trying to decide the details for my upcoming project, while I save up for the parts. So far I´m thinkin' 37" with unimog 404, shortened bed and magnum v8. Cheers!
