  1. Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I was just hopeful that since the engine bay harness is separate from the interior harness, and that I was sticking with mj rather than xj it would be a simple swap. I've been to every junkyard in a 60 mile radius and this was the first comanche I'd come across. I guess I'll just have to pull my dash and start comparing the two and start spicing. Thanks again...
  2. Have I done something to offend, or am I just too much of a newby idiot to warrant responses? I've only posted a couple times but I'm on this site daily and love it, but never seem to get answered...
  3. My fuse box is shot. I found a upull yard that had a 86 4 cylinder 4x4 auto MJ that I pulled the dash harness out of. Wasn't bad at all only took about 20 minutes (without tearing anything up). The plan is to just swap it out directly with my 87 4.0 4x4 5spd. I've done some searching found all the posts about using xj harness, cutting and splicing, replacing terminal connectors, but just hoping you guys can confirm that the direct swap will work, and if it will be plug and play, or if there are any known issues I'll have to address. Thanks in advance for your time and replies...
  4. Ok. If I can get a full harness from a newer xj, I CAN make it work with my current drive train though?
  5. Picked up a 2000 XJ dash yesterday. Hoping to put it in my 87 MJ without swapping the drive drain. So will I need to follow the HO to renix diagram?
  6. Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I'm new to the xj/mj thing. My current dash harness is shot in my 86 comanche, I was hoping to do the 97+ dash swap without swapping the motor or anything. Is that what the HO to renix diagram is for? I'm still not clear on the whole motor identifying thing, but I can tell the difference in the HO intake shape.... Sorry to be an idiot, and thanks for any help.
