  1. Thanks for the update! Yeah, sounds like indeed it was probably a non stock bolt that required the drilling. So now at this point, I still wonder why the TJ amounts vs the others are different part numbers. I think overall it doesn’t matter and they offer the same fitment, but I’m curious nonetheless. If I can ever get my hands on stock YJ mounts again, I’ll buy them in a heartbeat and compare. Otherwise, I am running the TJ mounts for the foreseeable future. something interesting is the aftermarket brands (such as Anchor) offer different mounts also, following the stock fitment tables. So one mount for YJ/XJ/MJ, and another for TJ. Now, I know those are all junk, but I wonder if holding them side by side would tell me anything worthwhile. And finally, I hear ya on the parts. I used to throw out everything not realizing how valuable factory parts are. That was 11-12 years ago now. Now, I'm spending boatloads returning it to bone stock and in the process trying to get as many useful OEM parts as I can. Even if I don’t have storage for them.
  2. Bringing this back to pick your brain. I have a YJ that uses the same 52019201 line of mounts that the XJ and MJ used. My YJ OEM mounts are long gone, and nothing aftermarket has worked well since then. I purchased the same TJ mounts as you a few years ago and I always wondered what the difference was between the TJ version vs the YJ/MJ/XJ version, since the TJ uses a different part number family. The only visual difference I can spot is the bolt sleeve slot either facing up or down. Seems to face up on TJ mounts and down on the YJ/MJ/XJ....which is inconsequential. Can you elaborate on what you had to drill? Did you have to drill the sleeve in the mount itself? I'm confused on why that was needed, because the OEM parts catalogs show all years of all of those 4 vehicle models using the same M12x1.75 bolt and part number (34202606). So it would seem any normal fitting stock bolt should have worked in either mount. I think Brown Dog provides a 1/2" bolt, did you perhaps switch to something like those and then when going back to stock mounts, the non-OEM bolts are what wouldn't fit in the TJ mount? After all this, I still can't figure out what is actually different between a TJ mount and the others. I wondered if it was a height difference, since the TJ had a low belly pan...but it seems like the height was the same from all the info I can find. I really wish I hadn't tossed out the originals 10 years ago...they were still good. Kills me that I used to be that way. Thanks for any help
