  1. this is how the MJ sits now with 31s,
  2. not sure if they are home made they sure did a great job, they look like they were made in a machine shop not a barn.if i buy the RE 5.5 SOA kit where is the best place to buy some factory leaf springs/
  3. thats what i was thinking i know it has add-a -leafs in the back and it has 31x10.50s on it and there is plenty of room, so will stock bushings work?
  4. they are like 2in x 2in square tubing,
  5. LOL i knew that was commin , i see what i can do i just got dark but ill go take a pic, and be back in a few, eric
  6. i need help, this MJ i bought is becoming a mystery, i need to replace all the control arm bushings, and i was looking at the lower control arms and they don't apear to be stock , but I'm not that familiar with comanches so can someone post a pic of a stock lower?, also if they are not stock, will stock size bushings still fit? also I'm getting ready to lift the truck and was wondering what you guys thoughts are on the best way to go. i know i want the springs on top of the axles, and was thinking of trying a U-bolt eliminator kit, so with that said should i buy all my parts seperat or buy a complete kit? I'm wanting between 4 and 6 inches of lift and i deff want new leafs in the rear, so what ever the rear ends up being with the u bolt eliminator and goin on top of the axle i want to match the front. just not sure if i should try to find a kit or just order peice meal, also i can't aford $2000 at this time for lift ,so i want to keep budget in mind, thanks in advance for any help, you guys always come thru for me. Eric

  9. well I'm trying to take advantage of extra parts i have layin around and have a few questions, first is i have a broken shock up front, and don't want to replace it yet because i getting ready to order a 4in lift that will come with shocks, however just to get me by i noticed that i have a new set of ranchos from my old YJ i used to have , so the first q is do yj and mj front shocks retro? next q , the shocks where for a yj with 3 in lift. if they are a retro, and i put the 2 inch R.E. coil spacers in will they work ok?and last i just bought this mj and its the first 4x4 comanche that ive owned, so I'm not sure how they sit from the factory, its got 31 10.50s on it and has plenty of tire clearance, does that sound like a factory suspention? or do you think theres a very mild lift or add a leaf the plan if everything works is to put the ranchos up front with the coil spacers and buy a set of chevy drop shackles for the rear, just to give it a better stance for next to zero mony til i can get my liftkit and 33s. sorry about the long windedness of this post, Eric
  10. my first mod, lol
  11. well its offical i joined your forum a while back, but now i will be a participating, member. i just got back with my new comanche and here are the details, found it on craigs, drove 2 hrs north of me to get it , in florida, its a 89 with a 5 speed AX 15/ np231/ 4.0 that i found out the old owner had a new factory motor put in at his local jeep dealership, 45,000 miles ago, and i have the payperwork to prove it. he spent $4500. for new motor brain and service the tranny. the frame is perfect the body has zero rot, body has plenty of dents but nothing i can't work with, interior is rough with bench, that i will replace with buckets. i think the only bad thing is it came from the factory with no AC, not sure how much of a projectits goin to be to retro it in . here is a list of things i will be doin to the MJ as money permits i paid $1700 for this truck i feel like i got a fair deal but let me know what you think, 1 bucket seats 2 AC 3- 4 in lift/ 33 in tires /rims 4- install SYE 5- paint/body work 6-front rear bumpers/winch i will post as i make progress, and will have plenty of questions
  12. cool i will keep my fingers crossed. thanks for the help eric
