I replaced the concentric slave on my AX4 transmission this weekend and at one point an item fell next to me. It was the item in the red circle of the attached image. I replaced it where it is shown, as I could see the slight dust line where the sleeve ended. I also noticed that the vacuum line in the blue circle was hanging loose but I can not seem to locate where it goes to. Lastly, the plug in the green circle was disconnected, not by me, but I found it like that. I connected it back in. When I started the truck back up after finishing the replacement it ran terribly. Erratic idle and it died after 5-10 seconds. Prior to the swap it ran really smoothly. I am after looking through my Haynes manual the only thing that would make sense is a vacuum issue. I have not found any diagram of the vacuum lines. Any idea where the blue line goes or why those other connectors came apart?

I am fabricating a flatbed for my shortbed 91 and I had a question about the fuel tank. I need to fab up new mounts for the fuel tank and thought it could be a chance to go to a 23 gallon tank since I can accommodate the extra support strap. Also, I don't need to worry about the filler neck position since there won't be the bedsides in that spot. Moving it further back is actually better for the boxes I want to make for it. My question is, will a fuel pump and sender unit for the 23 gallon tank work with my current fuel gauge? Or will the original pump and unit from the 18 gal tank work?

Did you chat anymore with them? The fella I talked to was Ben and he said he has not received anything about it. -

I sounds like once they have a CAD file for the window they can make them on demand. Not really a production run style. -

That would be awesome if we could set that up! -
Hey folks, I have been looking at getting a Breezer window for my truck to replace the old busted slider that I currently have. They don't have the Comanche listed on their site so I reached out about a custom window. For those that don't know, a Breezer window is a totally removable rear window that opens the back end of the truck up. Here is their site. I reached out to them and chatted with Ben Kosh. He said that all they need to make a custom window is the traced outline of the glass and the dimensions (vertically in the center, horizontally at the top and bottom). Since my window is still in the truck, if someone has a rear window sitting out could they make a trace of it on a sheet of paper and measure what those dimensions are? He also said that if a few guys also ordered one it would waive the design costs. Right now the windows are $650 so if anyone is interested they could jump in! Some pics of what they look like.

I am looking for a single 15" turbine wheel cap. It is quite difficult to find just one.

I went to change the oil in a 2.5L 1991 and found it very difficult to remove the oil filter. It was not unscrewing that was the problem, but maneuvering it out of the engine bay and getting a new one in. Does anyone have a tip for squirreling it out? Also, what is the canister that is blocking it? I have looked at photos of other engine bays and not seen this. I am guessing it is the EVAP canister.

This is a long post and relates to the Cherokee, but he goes very in depth about improving the mpg of the 4.0 https://www.jeepforum.com/threads/my-goal-is-to-get-25-mpg-from-my-99-xj-with-30-x-9-5-r15-ats.1551782/ -
Cleaning door latch

Sounds like its workin! -
Nice build! You mention using 2 part epoxy, what kind of product did you go with?

Any tips on where to look? Everything I have read seem that it holds up really well if it is out of the sun and properly prepped and given 2 coats.

When I bought my Comanche, I could not open the doors without lots of pushing and shaking. It was so bad that I left the doors unlocked because you could not get the keys to actuate the lock or the handles to open the doors. While replacing the window mechanism I figured I would pull the latches to clean them. They had lots of caked on grease and were very difficult to move. The first thing I did was soak them in de-greaser in milk jugs over night. This removed a fair amount of loose material, but there was still the heavy caked on material, and it didn't help that I washed it with cold water. I repeated this but with hot water to wash. I found that there was still lots of material inside the mechanism that was too tough to get with a brush. I don't have access to a hot pressure washer and none of the car washes nearby have one, so I did it on the stove top. I boiled water in a junk pot and added baking soda. After boiling for about 15 minutes I pulled them out with a pliers, brushed out any debris and put them in clean boiling water for another 10 minutes. I finished by dousing them in WD-40 to evacuate the water and then hosed them down with lithium grease. Now they function like a dream and both doors work great!

I recently purchased a '91 that was in good shape. One of the first days I had it was a rainy day and I jumped in to drive it to a mechanic for a look over. I noticed that when I accelerated water ran down the rear window, on the inside. I was concerned by this, but figured it was the humidity and cold temps. However, the problem was recurring. I pulled the headliner out, and the ceiling was wet and has some light surface rust. I plan to lightly sand the ceiling and apply POR15 to keep it as clear of issues as possible. Also, I am going to put a foam sound deadener on the ceiling to give some insulation to prevent condensation. The carpet was wet when I pulled it out and I am curious if that wet carpet was contributing to the moisture. I have looked on the forum and have not seen a problem that matches mine. Anyone have thoughts on why this condensation was occurring?

Thank you very much!

I recently acquired a bucket of parts from someone with a Comanche and had some questions about a couple items. I think the wiring harness is for the headlights. I am bot sure on the black object with what appears tk be a vacuum line. It also has a connection for a plug but with a look in my truck I couldn't identify it. Any ideas?
