  2. I never seen one until I traded a guy my 2 non running 6x6's for one its pretty neat. I'll get some pics up of it asap but its a 4 wheel drive amphibious atv that steers with sticks like a tank. has a 7 hp honda motor I think it was made in 1973. I don't think they made alot of them. I got it for a toy to mess with. Has anyone seen these or into 6x6's?
  3. so I have hot heat when i put the slider to heat and cool air when its on cool. But its always on defrost even if i slide the slider to off. The blower selector works too. I have searched and checked every vacume line 5 or 6 times and find nothing. is there another problem that is a usual suspect? thanks
  4. great i was just praying something else wasnt breaking the H2 turns over as soon as i hit the key. but now i know i have a good battery and alt 4 cranks is good for me
  5. To me it seems like it takes a little too long for the mj to start. I turn the key seems like it cranks about 4 times before it kicks over and starts. Does this seem about norm?
  6. fixed its the dumb fuses when they are rattled just a bit loose they cause a light to go on. I just reach down and push and out they go lol just one of he little quarks
  7. no but a few of the fuses were corroded ill try cleaning it all up
  8. hmmm could be a fuse issue since the seat belt light stays on constantly now too and it never did
  9. looking for factory radio for my 86 mj not concerned what kind as long as it plugs right into my factory harness thanks
  10. no it doesnt stays at 14.9 could it be a faulty battery light? or maybe even the alternator before i put the new battery in and the belt was loose it wouldn't stay on while driving now its on all the time

  12. I can't figure it out i tested the battery (a new battery) with volt meter while engine was off then with it running it had higher volts when running which would indicate the alternator is good? but the light stays on on the dash. I also have new belts and they are nice and tight too.
  13. i just come home from driving the comanche and the battery light popped back on although no more squealing i am thinking the alt is bad. arrgh
  14. how would I go about adjusting my steering so the wheel is straight it is about a quarter turn to the right to make the wheels straight. Should i just pull the wheel and turn it? also feels a little loose in the steering.
  15. well i got it on just had to muscle it thats all.. no more squealing got new battery and found the short on my dash lights..... turns out it had alot to do with the hack job that someone did on a 1986 aftermarket tape deck just unplugged the harness to it and my troubles were fixed now i need a stock radio for it.

  18. mine looks nothing like that.., figures it has 2 v belts not a single belt. i got the old belt off by prying and turning te pulley but i can find no adjustment on the ps pump at all
  19. i am changing belts and cannot find a way to tighten or loosen the power steering pump to change the belt. any help? do i need to pull the whole pump off to change the belt?
  20. I have actually been finding a few 2.5 5 speed xj's also a few 5 speed trannys by themelves let the parts gathering begin
  21. I am looking on craigslist everyday for a nice set of rims and tires to replace the stockers. Any pics of what you guys are running... and whats about the biggest tire i can fit under a stock 2wd a 31???
  22. what are your thoughts on just doing a 5 speed 4.0 swap?? worth it or not really? i can find 4.0 5 speed xj's all over compared to the 2.5
  23. the guy told me the side post battery thats in it is bad because the pos post is broke somehoe thats why i have to jiggle it. I am going to try new top post battery and an alternator and belts. looks like the alternator pulley is locked up for a sec until i rev it at start up then it frees up.
  24. great ill be on the lookout for a parts machine but I am guessing an xj with the 2.5 will be hard to find
  25. So when I bought the truck the guy told me it may need a new battery. every once in a while it won't start i just jigle the positive battery cable and it starts up. Sometimes at start up it makes a horrible squeal that I can't isolate. it has blown a few dash light fuses. and the battery light comes on sometimes. could this be the alternator? locking up and the belt squealing. the last time the dash light fuse blew I was driving it squealed then bam out went the lights. any info would be great thanks
