  1. Hey guys I need to replace my power steering pump because its leaking pretty bad. Pretty much drops the whole reservoir after each drive. I have the pump and a new pulley, is there a write up out there? I can't seem to find one. Any helpful tips/tricks? Here is a screen shot of a video I took. Leaving my street pretty messy haha Thanks
  2. Hey there I did not. I haven't driven the Jeep like crazy so it hasn't bothered me lol
  3. Only reason I took in for an alignment was because I had gotten new tires on the truck. All they said was I need the front suspension rebuild (they probably meant the steering linkage since they said tie rods). The steering also pulls to the right a bit so I wanted to fix that issue especially because when I brake it pulls a bit more but nothing crazy. Just wanted to fix that small issue IMG_7641.HEIC IMG_7638.HEIC IMG_7637.HEIC
  4. These are some pictures I had taken already. Will get some more when I get home
  5. Truck is completely stock as far as I know and I was not given a printout as all 3 shops had a few minutes looking at the truck and then told me there was nothing to do unless I changed the tie rods. What do you guys think could be wrong other than the bent axle suggested? By the way my Comanche is RWD. I do already have new Upper and Lower Controls arms with bushings ready to install. Forgot to mention that whoops.
  6. Hey guys, I'm looking to replace my front suspension parts because I was told by 3 different shops that I could no longer get an alignment on my truck without replacing my front end suspension. Said Tie Rods were adjusted to the max so there was nothing they could do. Now I am looking to do the job myself as it doesn't seem to hard after watching a few videos. Looking on websites I can't find parts that are for an 88 Jeep Comanche or Cherokee, which I have an 88 Comanche. Do you guys know if a 91 front suspension set up would work? Does it matter if it says its only for 4WD? These are some of the kits I am considering. 7. Hey guys, I replaced my injectors and removed the fuel line. Must’ve pulled too hard and loosened the fitting because I am now leaking gas from the fitting. I tried putting fuel resistant gasket maker (blue stuff) and nothing. Now I want to replace the hose and fitting, Dorman (800-120), but there is no disconnect on the bottom of truck. What tips/suggestions do y’all have for me? Would using a 5/16 barbed connector work if I were to cut the hose and connect with that and a couple of clamps? Thanks
  8. Reviving this thread to see if anyone else can guide me here. The o-ring kit solved the original leak issue but now it seems the fitting is leaking. So the fitting is no good. I ordered a Dorman Fuel fitting (800-120) and it looks like it would fit the fuel rail but when I got to bottom of truck, there is no connection. The fuel hose is also tearing so I’d like to replace it all. Any tips/suggestions? Don’t feel like taking it to a shop if it’s a simple fix
  9. Just took a look at pics I posted, looks like I am missing the o-rings so thats probably why I am leaking.
  10. Okay sweet! So you used the HK7/NAPA fitting on the rear and it fit fine?

  12. Hey guys, I just changed my fuel injectors and injector connectors. Of course I had to disconnect the fuel rail, and when i went to connect again I thought it all clipped in good. I decided to prime the fuel pump to make sure no gas leaked before turning on the engine, but there was a leak from the hose that takes the gas into the fuel rail. Not sure if the plastic fuel connector is damaged or if it is the hose. Any tips/hints on what could be wrong. 13. Another thing, I want to add a 2.5" - 3" lift. Would you recommend doing a lift at this point in time since the front suspension will be done soon or can it be done separately? Any good lift kit recommendations?
  14. Thanks for your input, I have a bit more understanding now. So for the control arms, I thinking of staying with MJ control arm replacements unless those WJ control arms aren't to much of a hassle. A certain year/engine WJ you recommend so I can look up parts easier? So what do you recommend I do for the track bar, tie rod ends, tie rod, and tie rod sleeve? ZJ or WJ?
  15. Hey everyone, first post on the forums. Kinda new to this and kinda new to working on cars. I tried to get an alignment on my Comanche and was told by two shops I would need new tie rods, control arms, bushings and all that. Basically a front suspension rebuild. I've seen a couple posts about converting to the V8 ZJ front suspension because its basically bolt on and its more durable. Is that true? Any recommendations? These are the parts that I have put in cart from RockAuto. Anything I'm missing? Not 100% on changing the pitman arm its just in the cart as a maybe. Any advice helps thank you
  16. @91Pioneer What lift is on the truck? I like the way it sits and am considering lifting my Comanche but not crazy. Would like to be 2 - 3 inches on the lift
  17. 1988 Jeep Comanche Laredo 2WD Longbed 4.0 Inline 6, 4 speed automatic Floor shift, Not sure of Axles, Longbed Sticker on door is pretty faded, only thing able to read is date of June 1986 Currently in Riverside County California and still driving despite giving some starting and idling issues. It is bucket seats and has power windows and power locks. Windows work but power locks do not. I put these new Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires on in October 2023. LT235/75/R15 Give me a slight rub when I turn all the way to the left or to the right. Picked up for $4,300 and had 241,000 miles and currently has 242,100 Previous owner one step painted the Jeep from Black to the now Gray because he liked the Black trim on the Gray paint look. May eventually want to give it a 2 - 3 inch lift, nothing crazy because I want to keep this truck somewhat stock looking. Have a water leak coming either from cargo box lamp or the rear window when it rains, have not found exactly where yet.
