Thanks ghetdjc320, I recently had an amateur experience when testing the system by jumping the A/C clutch relay at the PDC, similar to the Jeep-Eagle tech training videos that are online. In my case, within 10 seconds of jumping the AC clutch relay the compressor made a high pitch noise and began to clunk (like a rock was going around in the compressor) and then something began hissing. I shut down the truck and took it to the mechanic. This week the mechanic has replaced the compressor, lines, drier, expansion valve, and condenser. The only thing left is the actual box under the passenger side with the evaporator, heater core and that silly fin sensor 55035503.
My issue began on a road trip when I decided to get a new radiator, water pump, aux fan and fan clutch installed but after the cooling system upgrades, my AC only stayed on for about 45 minutes then it shuts down. I could not go back to the shop because I was on a roadtrip.
Many AC related parts have been change out using Mopar parts as much as possible and the AC still only works for about 45 min. then the cold air blowing from the vents becomes normal/room temp air. My new mechanic can't find the 55035503 sensor so he bypassed something, but he mentioned that the truck was dead the next morning after bypassing. unsure what was bypassed.
- I would like to keep my jeep as original as possible, but I'm open to a good bypass solution.
In all my years owning this jeep, the AC has never given me any headaches, and the system always stayed cold. I also would regularly drive with the heater on low to keep the fluid moving around the heater core.
side note: My usual mechanic for 10 years left Brooklyn, NY recently and I'm trying to find a good Jeep mechanic.
The pic below is from online and is only an example of what i jumped. My jeep has all of the fuses in the right places.
