Is it possible to swap from an 88 MJ header to the 91+ header? I know the 88 has the extra tube coming off the side, but what else is different, and what kind of issues might one have with the 91+ exhaust manifold on the 88?

When you say you put a new engine and harness in, has the engine ever been ran, prior to putting it in? Have you checked the timing? Will it start if you spray starting fluid in the throttle body?

It never hurts to check the crankshaft position sensor.
