  1. Thanks to all was wondering about the whole spark thing. I've had guys say don't use screwdriver because of spark and I've had guys say it's no problem
  2. Hey Everyone can someone recommend a good tool for removing lock ring on gas tank of an 88 MJ, one that works the best?
  3. Thanks all mine is 4.0
  4. Q pJust put new radiator in my 88 MJ. Does the bottom need to be bolted to something? Don't remember unbolting anything off bottom of old one. Picture is bottom of passenger side.
  5. I'll look for 5.5. I have a paper gauge, seems like it would be a 5 but isn't
  6. Ok losing it. Trying to put radiator isolators on new radiator. Drivers side took m5 nut. However the m5 seems to? be too small on passenger side but m6 is too large. Is there a size in between? Am I missing something
  7. Thank you
  8. Have an 88 long bed, found a guy with a cap for sale, anyone know exactly dimensions of cap that is needed
  9. Thanks all
  10. They are 225 75 15s
  11. Found a guy selling 4 new tires for $140, still have plastic wrap on them. I can see Custom 428 A/S on the sidewall. I think they are made by Eldorado? Not familiar with this brand. Anyone have experience with them, good for comanche?
  12. Just received radiator isolators don't have the right sized nuts to secure to radiator and top plate anyone know what size I need?? Thanks
  13. Thanks to all
  14. It has about a quarter tank, most of which is about month old, enough old gas in there to have the varnish smell. I don't hear the pump come on when octuem key. My thinking is the pump needs replaced. The tank does not seem to leak, was thinking to just replace it anyways. Now I'm thinking just remove the protective plate and try to just replace the pump assembly. How difficult is this with tank in truck? Should I use something plastic to try to disengage the ring to prevent spark? I have no idea how difficult this is or isn't
  15. So, remove the pump from the tank with the tank still installed to siphon out the gas?
  16. While I have you, trying to cipher out gas having hell of a time getting tube down in there. The tube I bought has 3/8 inside diameter and 1/2 outside diameter. Too thick or is there a trick to this, seems pretty damn straight forward
  17. Thanks buddy yes price is issue, thanks
  18. Ok so it's just my preference? No idea what is in it now, either will fit right in?
  19. 88 comanche 4.0 long bed. 18 gallon gas tan?
  20. Just thought of something. Tell me if there is a flaw in my thinking. Can't I just unplug the fuel hose going into the filter, redirect it onto container, crank the motor and see if any gas comes out? If it does, pump works, if it doesn't, pump doesn't work. Is this a flawed idea? Now if gas does come out, I reconnect the hose, take off hose coming out of filter and do same thing. Gas comes out, filter is fine. No gad, filter is clogged.
  21. 1) I do not 2) it does 3) is there a video for this?
  22. Still trying to diagnose why my 88 4.0 won't start. I pulled the terminals from fuel pump resistor, put jumper wire between the two, still cranks, no start ( does jumper wire have to be certain size?) I pressed the schrader valve, no gas came out. I took off driver's side tail light to check ground, don't see it, I assume it would look pretty obvious attached to bed right? Looked under truck don't see any obvious wires hanging. What next? Is this it?
  23. Forgive my ignorance but not as me hanically inclined as I'd like ot. Bypass it?
  24. Hey everyone, I have an 88 with 4.0 just put new radiator, fuel pump and thermo yesterday. Tru k has sat Maybe 6 months. Truck will crank strong but not start. Hit it with some starter fluid,it would fire up and die after second or two then just crank and crank. Headlights come on. Dash lights too. Truck had flat tire and was leaning to side, though maybe gas wasn't getting to pick up. Pumped up tire, nothing. Truck also has new fuel filter. Any ideas?
