  1. I'm having issues with my truck it is an 89 I6 5 speed manual. I had an electrical short happen a few days ago. And it started and ran 4 times. But now It just cranks and acts like it wants to run but immediately dies. I am lost. I know very little about these trucks and vehicles in general. I think it may be the fuel pump because i don't hear it with the key on. Are there any ways I can test this myself? I have multimeter
  2. Good to know thank you so then my truck is been running under temperature of the whole time I did follow eagles advice in just filling until coolant level doesn't go down anymore that seemed to help. I have a new thermostat to install. Will do that along with my radiator because it is damaged now. Thank you for your inputs I appreciate the helpful knowledge.
  3. Yes that is what I am talking about I think the temperature sensor and it is on the back of the valve cover on the driverside.
  4. When My truck is Idle i will start to "over heat" with the temp gauge reaching 210 or higher if I don't move, but once I start to drive the temperature will drop pretty drastically from 210+ down to about halfway between the 210 and the start of the temp gauge. So I assumed I had trapped air in the cooling system causing hot spots. Could this just be my radiator not dissipating the heat? Maybe I do need to just add more coolant. I will give it a try. So Really you haven't ever had to purge the air out of the sealed cooling system. This definitely is starting to seem like user error. Sorry this is my first Jeep ever and I don't know much about vehicles but this Truck is definitely teaching me some things.
  5. I have an 89 comanche with 4.0 and a closed cooling system and I have air bubbles stuck in my cooling system. I would loosen the temp gauge sender bolt on the back of the engine but it is stripped really badly to the point i can't get it open because the socket can't grab. Are there any other ways of getting the air out?.. or do i need to just rip this thing out. Are there replacement temp gauge sender bolts or am I screwed? I have many other questions about lots of other things but this one is my first post so far.
  6. My first Jeep and first manual. Manufacture date 6/89 7ft bed Engine 4.0L I6 Transmission 5-speed manual (ax15 I think but don't know for sure) Rear wheel drive Dana35 rear axle Front axle unknown. Its a RWD Located in pierce county washington. Pretty sure the Jeep came from Canada As far as I know it does not have any fancy factory things(I also don't know what it was factory equipped with) I just so happen to stumble along this website which I have already learned a lot from. I have only owned this since around october 13th, 2021. I think the majority of the timeI have been fixing the domino effext of things that I broke. [(Things like the pinion yoke on the rear axle from learning how to drive the manual.) Which led to re welding the clutch pedal because I completely broke it.) That caused my starter to go out from driving with no clutch and having to shut the jeep off and start it again after every stop.... Which eventually led to changing my motor mounts. Now just trying to fix it up so it is running smooth and hope to do a 4×4 conversion. New paint one day. Hope to lift it. I have my goals of what I want to do and with the help of others on here I think I can accomplish those goals. I got carried away Here motor pictures. I will add others another time.
  7. Is it too late to register my comanche? I am still not very good at working my way around this site but I have been reading on here ever since I got my truck a few months ago.
