DesertRat1991, thanks for the information, are the backing plates the same as well? I have found a dana 44 with badly rusted backing plates and need to replace them.

Looking for some information on Comanche dana 44 drum brakes. My son and I are gathering parts for a dana 44 axel upgrade. We wanted to keep the truck fairly original and planned on using drum brakes. Are the drum brakes Comanche specific or were they used on other models/years? Are there parts available? Maybe someone out there has drum brakes that were removed for disc brake conversion laying around.

I am new to the Comanches and noticed that when the jeep ignition is in the run position, I can operate the automatic floor shifter without pressing on the brake. Is this correct or is something wrong?

I am new to the site, this is my first post! I run the 3.5 MC dual rate springs on my 06 TJ, very nice riding spring. My son would like to run 31" tires and only lift his 1992 4X4 SB about 1.5". We are ok with purchasing new leaf springs and extended shackle for the rear and spacers for the front coil springs. We really don't want to mess with the road manners to much because it drives great. Who sells a nice riding rear leaf spring set-up? Comments?
