    Thanks for the responses. It is RTV that is applied when the axles are manufactured. Had to put a bead in when I replaced. No leaks so all good.

    New to this but I acquired a 88 Comanche Olympic Edition several months ago and in going through the front axle I have all the seals ready to go but I cannot find the O rings that go between the axle carrier bearings and the axle tube? Not really a true O ring as the ring is ribbed on 1/4 of it's circumference? I've been searching online with no luck. I attached a photo of the ring. The one in the photo is red. Mine were black.
