  1. I'm gonna go take a pic of the cut and bend i made to the OEM seat brackets right fast and try and figure out to post them on here... ive never been able to get pics to work on here yet as i don't use photobucket or any of that crap...
  2. thanks fellas... i got to looking at the setup in the XJ and i think the floors actually sit lower or are more of a bowl shape then the MJ so cutting out the floors is not gonna work... ill look at pulling that front bracket also out of there before it gets hauled off... i did however played with the front mounts some and made a small cut on each front part... then bent the metal flat... this way i just need to make new holes for the front mounts and it sat the front down lower about 1.5inches... so i don't think ill need the brackets from the 97+... now the back is to high and i see no easy way of doing that... the electric seat brackets are different then the standards... i saw a picture somewhere of all the different brackets for the MJ and XJ seats and they used several... i can see how i can cut it down and then reweld it back together and get about 1.5 inches cut our of the back also which would level the seats back out but I'm not sure if itll be enough to get in without smacking my head still... and the flat metal is laid at like a angle like a "Z" style and ill be cutting the middle out... which is alot... probly not gonna be fun... i dunno.. ill figure it out though... lol... thanks again guys!!
  3. ive googled the crap out of this and nobody uses the 97+ seats... much less the electric... but i got a set of black leather electric seats from a 99 and the center console for the body of my 97 parts jeep at the JY... thats nothing more then scrap cause its beat to hell... anyways i know theres easier ones to work with... but these WILL go in there... if i gotta cut the floor out and reweld my 97 parts jeeps floor back in... lol... ill do it! but i wanna see if theres another way... also have access to MJ bucket seat brackets... if it at all makes things easier... and bench seat brackets... let me know if any of yall know anyone who did this! or if I'm gonna be the first! lol... Travis
  4. I use their perches and shock mounts also. 1/4" steel may be overkill, but rather that than something that might fail. I love a lot of there stuff man... I'm going with a 6.2 diesel in the Xj so there's gonna be a lot of torque... on everything... so I'm planning to use only there stuff... diff covers are nuts too... wish they would have included them in that magazines article on bulletproof diff covers...
  5. I know... I'm just messing... probly go with rough stuffs again... was heavy duty for the price...
  6. Sweet pic... I figured they would be different or I would have seen a thousand threads about doing it... I may Still get this d44 with discs and redo the perches... done it on my xj's 9" and not to bad... I can rig that junk if I wanna if its that close... some flat plate... alittle support new aligning hole... good to go... LOL... won't even see dirt anyways... LOL... thanks fellas
  7. Wouldn't a cherokees rear axle be the same as doing a soa to a stock mjs rear axle? Or are the perches a different width? Google'd this for 10 min and found nothing... I'm surprised... guessing there's a reason not though... thanks!
  8. i could shorten it myself... its not that hard... but its easier just buying a OEM one... and be done with it... found a long bed MJ still with the driveshafts in my JY... but its not a short bed dang it!... good news is they got a 99 XJ in and i need the fenders... lol... STILL looking for a driveshaft!!!
  9. probly... but i swapped to 4x4 also from 2x4... so it won't work for me... have to cut it down...
  10. got a 4.0/AX-15/231 short bed setup... SOA D35... need some driveshafts... i think I'm good on the front driveshaft as it should be the same as a XJ and i have one of those... the rear is the tricky one... i can't find a 4x4 MJ in any of the local yards... and id rather not build one if i could help it... thanks!
  11. cool sounds good man... i found a 97 XJ with a RE 4.5in full packed lift I'm going to try and grab this weekend for $800... the dummy ran 33's on the back and 32's on the front and literally blew the xfer case out of it... but its got alot of other stuff i need and i can sell the rest to a buddy down here that needs some stuff... let me know when you get here... hit up GaTrailRiders.com and get to know some of them guys... the do alot together...
  12. ive also got this one in my MJ... but its got 210k on it... runs on gas poored in the carb... i was only asking $75 for the whole thing... and I'm in GA
  13. all listed above... of course if eveyone hits me at once with all this stuff i won't be able to buy it all... just alittle at a time... but if you got it then let me know and as soon as i get it together ill get it from ya... the large stuff like the D30 3.55 and 231 id rather get local... id pay to ship the 231 if it totaled back to what i could get one here local which is $100... just want yall to make some moneys... also need from this below 4.5 or 6.5 shocks, comanche rear brake line (possibly the same as XJ), comanche carpet or rubber flooring, mickey thompson classic II's or the other brand that looks the same, MJ tailgate, and i think thats it for now...
  14. xj, mj from what ive seen are a direct swap... the WJ moves it up on top of the frame rail... commonly used when doing a V8 swap... makes room by getting it away from the inside of the frame rail... i have on myself ill be using... the dakota box i don't think is right at all... now the 99 Durango 4x4 is a upgrade and even more so if you can find one with a snow plow package... they are a bolt on with some washers/spacers being the only mod to make them work, stronger, takes less to turn, and newer... plenty of write up on the net...
  15. if i decide to get another one ill take a pic first... no big deal... but i got a buddy with a 1in transfer case drop that he doesnt use... since mines staying on the road i may just use it... for the "cool what is that?" effect... lol
  16. the crossmember was gone... ive read te "official" ba-10/ax-15 swap thread over at naxja and its said the crossmember will work just needs to be moved back... that it sits about an inch higher though so the newer crossmember is better... but since there the same as a automatic there a dime a dozen in any of my local junk yards if i can't get something to go right... also I'm not so worried about dash cluster... mines fine... just people saying certain ones are harder to come by so i was gonna look for everyone...
  17. lol... thats wrong... but thats how it goes... ill probly see what i can do with my stock XJ rear... since i won't be using it anymore anyways... i got a AX-15 from a 96 today... tranny, sliding back window, clutch, flywheel, back motor plate, transmission mount, reservoir and line, and 2 black window handles all for $150 today... i looked at the seats again on the MJ at the yard i was at and the pass is already pulled out... they both DO fold forwards... but the drivers front mounts are shot... grey fabric... but i ran out of money to buy and try and resell... so if anyones from the A.t.l. better go get them... theres no back window now... CRAP... i forgot to look at the gauges... also pullapart north has 2 more AX-15's... one of each style... 120k on the internal with a busted housing due to idiot who pulled the motor BUT would be cheaper and could swap housings... unknown on the 95 cause cluster is gone...
  18. Awwww crap... so what driveshafts does everyone use to convert the short beds to 4x4??? Other then a stock 4x4 Mj... cause I never see them in the junkyards... lol
  19. ill double check that tomorrow as i thought i remembered seeing the handle in the middle? I'm proby wrong though... maybe to may XJ pictures in my head...
  20. well i thought they would be the same wheel base anyways... well to at least the long or shot bed... of course not both... but maybe close enough for the cables to reach right anyways... an inch off isnt gonna hurt nothin...
  21. beats me... from the handle to the axle? would think they would be the same... same wheelbase... same location on the floor as an XJ...
  22. and ill check out the gauges also... not sure what they have... theres 3 MJ's in my local JY's but i never noticed what seats they got and what gauges... one does have a sunroof though :)
  23. well one of the MJ's the drivers side was rusted out real bad around the hole at the front by the door... like it wasnt even connected anymore... the pass was ok... the other MJ has the drivers seat laying in the bed with no bracket... but what would these be worth to you guys having a hard time finding them? ill have to get prices... cause i don't think i want them... even the rusted one could be repaired if someone really wanted...
  24. ive got two comanches that i just recently got... both have solid back windows and both have bench seats... was at he pick and pull today... couple of them and found 2 comanches... 1 with a sliding back window which id rather have and both had bucket seats... was just wondering which is more common... i think i want to keep my bench seat so i can ride a extra person but i like the looks of the buckets... and slidin rear glass is always just better... think I'm going to grab it and a AX-15 from a 96 XJ with only 125k on it for $100... found one out of like 40 XJ's in the two yards...
