Thanks. I'm going to take the good advice and hold off on this one. Spoke to the seller today and he isn't willing to move on the price, and he hasn't registered it since buying it; so it is a flip.

I'd prefer something that is mostly done. I can handle some stuff like a new paint job exhaust brake upgrades etc. I don't want to really bother with engine or transmission modifications. This truck is destined to be a garage Queen and occasional driver. I already have two other vehicles and I'm not into off-roading.

Agreed. There looks like a clean one in YUMA for $7500, with the upgraded 97 interior, but once I ship it, there I am at $9k again.

Thanks for all the honest info guys. I don't have to buy the truck, and the money isn't a huge deal, but I do want something a bit unique. Based on everything you have said, I think I was just excited to see a non-rustbucket MJ around here. Oh well. Time to keep looking around.

just a bump stop? ok. feel less worried about them disconnected on the bottom then. I'm leaning towards picking it up. Really can't find a reason not to.

sorry, haha, brain fart. meant to say cheap aftermarket shocks outside coils. but struts are disconnected. found that odd. Owner bought it sight unseen from down south, didnt have an answer for it.

Hi all, been a lurker for while learning about the Comanche. Ive been looking for an extra vehicle since I sold an 05 Tundra plagued with lot rot. I'm looking for a midsized pickup that has some character, can tow a small utility trailer and my 16' whaler (~2000 lbs), and fills the bill for a fun around town truck. Seems like the MJ ticks all the boxes! I found a very clean example nearby, no rust, no rot, even floor pans and normal areas. Bed is rhino lined, came from Georgia, garaged/covered with 105k on it. 90 4.0l 4x4 shortbed 5sp. Guy is asking $9k for it. my only gripes are the addition of some front aftermarket shocks added outside the coils, and lacks AC. other than that, I can't find anything wrong with it. Thoughts?
