    So he put the battery in and the negative cable connector melted as he started it. Would that be a bad ground?

    I'm in Manitoba. I just got a new battery today. My buddy, where the truck is sitting, is going to put it in and give me an update.

    You sure? I don't want to spend whatever it is to get a bettery and have it not be the battery.

    The battery is now 4 years old and was taken out of the truck for the winters but always under a roof either in the house or in the cab of the truck.

    Sometimes yes. But the odd time it needs a boost or the battery charged. But the truck takes forever to start every single time if that changes anything.

    Yeah I have a voltage gauge in the truck it reads about 13 or 14 volts until the truck dies obviously. I don't have a multimeter.

    Hey I'm new to this forum. I have a 1987 Jeep Comanche 2.5l and my battery gets way hotter then it should after driving 4 kms and the truck dies. Can anyone give me ideas on what's causing this and how to fix it.
