  1. Pardon? One of those instances where it it's explained to me like I'm 8. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  2. Not quite sure what's at play here, but my 4x4 gear lever is in RWD "normal" mode, but the part-time 4x4 light is on. I tried to switch once from RWD to 4x4, but didn't feel or see any difference in the snow. Light, however, remained stubbornly on. Any experience with this scenario? 3. Oh that's a real beauty! What do you use for cargo management? Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  4. Currently I've got a vinyl cover that snaps onto the truck bed railing. Problem is the clips or rather buttons have all broken off and so at speed the cover flaps all over. So I'm curious if there is a more modern solution out there that fits onto the Comanche. Also, any kind of cargo solutions out there? Things like internal hooks, ability to keep cargo in a particular spot without sliding back and forth? Thank you Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  5. Towing a Comanche and was curious where's the best attachment point? I don't see a good access to a frame. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  6. Interesting! It's what I thought as well. This Comanche forum is a treasure trove, it and Scotty Kilmer on YouTube. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  7. I've looked this up, so I'm looking at either a crap gasket or thermostat fell out of the recess and caused cracked housing upon tightening of the screws. The bottom one was a pain, had help push it down so I could get to it. Another big challenge is that it's hard to get the bottom screw into the hole. One last point, the thermostat purchased did not have a hole in it on top like the original thermostat, indicating insertion point. Is that an issue? Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  8. One of things that has mystified us in March of last year when we got the 1991 Pioneer, 5-speed manual, inline 6, 4x4 is that the horn wasn't working. The assembly appears to be all there. Also, the Jeep cap on the steering wheel is loose and when I put it back on, it doesn't flex inwards for the horn to function. I'm sure I sound like a damn fool, but how the heck do I troubleshoot this? Get a new steering wheel? If so, from where? Replace horn flux capacitor/fluid? Haha. Also reason I mentioned the exact spec of the Comanche is because ours has a 3 spoke sports wheel w/o an airbag. I've seen other Comanches with airbags, and different design wheels. So I'm not sure if it's trim specific, or just model year. Thanks guys. I'm still trying to figure out how to edit my. signature on this Tapatalk Android app. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  9. Well I'll tell you this...I certainly dodged a bullet. I didn't buy the part, thankfully, just trying to eliminate any low hanging fruit with parts that aren't expensive. Although a part of me is beginning to suspect that we may have a synchro problem and that's a high cost repair. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  10. Looks like a harness? Mechanic told me that's what I need to resolve shifting issues I've been having. Got stuck yesterday in middle of rush hour traffic. Ick. Not fun. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  11. What you described is 100% what my girlfriend has been reporting and something I can personally confirm as well. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  12. That's what I believe to be the case. I'm stumped as to what else to replace? Some sort of linkage or other component. The biggest challenge has always been 1st gear and the reverse. So if the clutch is not disengaging, which makes sense, what else could it be? Calibration? Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  13. He replaced it with a 92 Cherokee clutch pedal assembly. He noticed that before the assembly was all jerry rigged and was resulting in wobbly brake pedal and clutch not engaging. His words. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  14. Hello, Last year we had difficulties being able to shift into gear, so a transmission mechanic recommended replacing the clutch, clutch bearing and replacing clutch/pedal assembly. Well we did all that and still the problem persists. It's almost like the clutch isn't fully engaging to allow me to grab the needed gear. Any thoughts? Thanks. 6 inline, 5-speed, 4x4, 1991 Pioneer. 15. Looking for this particular lock on design Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  16. Found the needed Doorman parts 42344 grommet, 47057 and 47079 valves. All I'm trying to track down now are the two front and rear breathing tubes. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks! Found a really good guide on how to do this. Unfortunately, it's Michigan and I don't have a garage, hence a fear of my jittery fingers letting a piece of CCV drop inside the valve cover. Hunting for a garage to work in at the moment. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks. Looking at Advance Auto Parts or AutoZone they're not even finding the CCV. On Saturday both of their databases let me down with the correct part for the truck. Are there OE#s? How do I make sure I get the correct parts Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  19. It's a 91 with 4.0. What would be those two valves sitting on top of the cylinder head? I'm getting a boatload of oil leaking into my air intake, the filter soaked in 10w/30. And those two valves look suspect. Does it make sense what I'm describing?
  20. Hello, I'm searching autozone and advance auto farts for two PCV valve kits, including a hose that goes to the air intake (filter) box, but can't find anything. Is there a code, or do I need to search for a Cherokee? Spent 12 hours yesterday doing a tune-up and found that my PCV valves are busted, plus the hose that runs to the air intake was crushed somehow. Thanks, gentlemen!
  21. Still shorting. Blew a fuse today after 50 mins of driving and blower motor was running fine. Checking power at connector to blower motor, resistor pack, and fuse gate. Will look for a wire touching metal. Needle in a haystack isn't it? Ha!
  22. So I tracked down the leak, it is coming from the windshield as I suspected above. Since the windshield is cracked, I'm going to have it replaced also, in addition to the rubber seal (weatherstripping) all the way around. Would I still need the thin metal trim pieces all the way around the windshield, or are they purely cosmetic and and can be discarded?
  23. That's exactly it! Is it an online purchase or does any parts store carry it? That's why my blower motor fuse shorted again, every time it rains moisture has been getting in and shorting out the fuse. Literally, a kingdom for a door seal, is how I'm feeling.
  24. From the pains of a malfunctioning blower motor and a non-working radio now being fixed, onto the next item, that is driver's side window trimming. With the rain, I've been noticing a fair amount of moisture getting into the cabin. Is this something as simple as going to a windshield/window repair place, going to Ziebart, and getting the rubber trimming put on, or is it something more involved that requires Comanche specific trimming? Thanks.
  25. I got it to work! It took about a week, but it came down to a fuse, don't laugh though because here's why: radio stopped working and when I pulled out that fuse I noticed it was a blown fuse that was an incorrect one from the prior owner at 30amp rather than light blue 15amp. I suspect, and I could be wrong, but I wonder if that fuse that's right next to the blower fuse had an effect on it since the brand new white 25 amp also busted. So I replaced both and now I got blower motor working full blast at all speeds and the radio is back from the dead too! Thanks for all the helpful data - wanted to thank you, but it took a week!
