  2. I wanna make a visit to the JY soon here but this constant cold and rediculous snow is just making it impossible. EDIT: I'm looking around for a 8.8, d44. found this but again am unsure if itll fit http://nmi.craigslist.org/pts/1614905741.html
  3. Well looks like I'm scrapping that idea, ill keep looking around. Is it possible to get a list from someone on what axles will swap in? id like to get this done before a wheeling trip i have planned in may
  4. Owner says it came out of a late 80s/90s ford 4x4 parts truck he has laying around. ill email and get the exact
  5. My current mj has the dana turdy five and its been on its way out ever since i bought it. well i found a deal for a ford 8.8 complete drum to drum for 75 bucks so i figured i might jump on that. I'm just wondering what kind of snags I'm liable to run into besides the usual fabrication Thanks
  6. I was thinking that too, i havent noticed bad vibes or ive been thinking the vibes are from the Mud terrains. Mistaking one for another, I'm going to have my fluid checked out today to see what that is. I'm thinkin SYE and new rear drive shaft maybe in order assuming the problem isnt the linkage and fluid.
  7. you think thats it? i mean it was working days before Also if its not the linkage will a SYE kit possibly fix this issue?
  8. here are some pics i snapped real quick in the garage, sorry cellphones all i got
  9. PO said he "Beefed up" the 4wd linkage maybe thats the suspect, ill be taking pictures for graphical reference sake, it just bothers me it worked FINE before. and i am by no means a mechanic (wish i was)
  10. After fixing my fuel pump ground issue yesterday i found another possible major issue, today i had to turn around on a rather icy road 2wd was barely getting my around so i popped it into 4 no problem until i slowed down and tried to pick it back up with the accelerator and it acted as if it was in neutral just reved up and didnt move. i thought it was werid so i stopped to drop it out of 4wd and it just wouldn't even with some force, i put it into neutral and tried again only to get a nice grinding noise. i said screw it after that and turned the truck off and then it allowed me to disengauge i was in neutral so it just pinned the revs at 3k for like maybe 30 seconds then eventually went back to normal. just a minute ago i recreated the situation and it did it again, but this time i dropped it into drive and it just pinned the accelerator and just wanted to move even with brakes applied it decided to argue. this truck is really starting to piss me off. :fs1: Alittle info it is lifted, idk how high PO said he made custom long arms and rustys coils, it has 35 inch bfg mud terrains so its a substantial lift to is i was told my PO it has a metric ton drive shaft and the angle of it is so that it doesnt need and SYE kit. the TC i just checked is a 231 with a aw4 and a slap shift modification to it, http://www.traildriven.com/showthread.p ... 75ad0&t=31 - the write up the PO used, Any information would to awesome, i just wanna get this headache fixed
  11. Its a 1988 comanche
  12. This has been bugging me ever since it first appeared. Sometimes when i get into my truck and start it, it starts just fine then as the revs come down to idle it starts to bog down then stalls, i tried to accommodate the boggyness with alittle gas but no matter how much i give it, it doesn't help at all.It fails to start for awhile just keeps bogging down and stalling. after awhile it goes back to normal and doesnt even bog down at all. it seems to happen only on like a warm start, i wanna say its maybe clogged injectors? but i cannot be certain they are after market injectors so its possible. Any other suggestions would be awesome! also it is a 4.0 out of a 1996 cherokee.
  13. Wow i apologize, i didnt even think to use the search button
  14. I've been trying to look around for a metal tool box for the bed of my MJ unfortunately i live in a super small town where theres little options, the only store we have that would sell em is Tractor supply co, I'm resorting to the internet to find a box. I'm also wondering what were the dimensions of a standard mj shortbox. thanks, sorry to be asking so many noob questions
  15. Hello, my Comanche currently has what looks like 2 inch shackles in the back on stock leafs but the leafs are starting to wear down and I'm looking at getting some heavy duty ones. i found hellcreeksuspension is selling metric ton leafs but ill need to use the same shackles or maybe some heavier duty ones if those exist. any ways I'm debating whether to buy these metric tons and shackles or get full lift leaf packs. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
