My 87 mj has a three wire set up there is a 12v constant with a ground broken by the pin switches in the door and a constant ground in the event you have switches on the light that can turn the lights on, off completely or switched by the door or headlamp switch. The strap between the bulbs positive and negative had long been gone so I cut the end wires off a diode and soldered it to make up the light and did not make up the constant ground since the stock lights did not come with individual on off switches. Yes it is nice to be able to see when you open the door just remember if you are installing a simple interior light that does not have a switch or toggle on the light the most simple way is to simply cut the constant ground and tape it off otherwise you lights will be on all the time.

First remove ground from battery. Pull headlight knob to the fully out position, take you finger or pencil or some other small blout instrument and press the button on the bottom of the light switch, while holding this button in pull the knob completely out. Take the proper size straight blade screwdriver and remove the retaining nut by turining it counter clockwise. Now you can remove the single wire on a tab at the rear of the switch and by pulling upward and wiggling the wiring plug you can now remove the plug from the switch and remove the switch from its cradle. Reassemble in reverse order and everything should work great, and yes he is correct you can see better if you remove the bottom dash trim piece.

Bought one from ManTrans in Tallahassee FL. It was pricey but they shipped it on a pallet ready to install with the NP 231 already mounted. They don't want your BA10 but will give you a $200 core for your NP 231. The ax15 was new and the np231 was rebuilt with all new parts and converted to 23 spine. Also had a B&M short throw shifter already on it. All plus shipping just under 2 grand. Only problem could not find a pilot bushing had to have on machined to fit. If your willing to lay out that kind of cash on your ride. www.mantrans.com or (850)222-6993 can fix you up, I haven't had any problems with mine and its been in about 1 year. Good luck.

Thanks sounds like as long as I stay away from EP additives the Amsoil GL4, Redline or motor oil should be an improvement over what I have now. Proud to be part of a club that is as helpful and active as this group again thanks for the info.
What is the correct transmission fluid for the AX15, currently running ATF! Sounds like it needs a GL4 but local transmission shop assures that it runs ATF.
