  1. Well the build sheet request I put into Jeep Customer Assistance 3 weeks ago is a no go. I got a reply today "the digital build data you are seeking is either unavailable or considered proprietary". I wanted a build sheet as it pretty much tells you every nut and bolt that goes into that vehicle. Have one for the 98TJ (Chili pepper red) and it has information that is neat or absolutely necessary to know. I can't find the tag on my differential and a build sheet would give me that information. Has anybody had any luck on getting a build sheet or maybe it's just not available from the 80's production? I also tried the VIN lookup sites (3 of them) but they don't give much info and one no info at all. One did list the following which maybe somebody on this forum can decode for me "Gross Vehicle Weight : 5001#-6000# : Comanche, Base, Metric Ton, Big Ton / Comanche, Custom, Metric Ton, Big Ton [2269/2722 Kg].".
  2. Replace the CPS crankshaft position sensor. I wouldn't even bother to ohm it out and play with it. Just replace it as one sure sign is no spark, no fuel. You might have whacked it somehow on the AX-15 swap. I spent almost a year chasing a intermittent bad one as every expert, mechanic, shop says they are never intermittent they just quit on the freeway and you tow it home. They were wrong. One day crank no start. Next day start just fine and run fine. Next day crank no start. Drove me nuts. If I remember correct they are not very expensive but a bit of a task to install. I had a shop with a hoist do it. Easier to do when your standing up. Worth a try.
  3. Don't really have a good answer! Maybe it's not wanting the dealer (who is still in business) getting an email or call over something that was a long time ago and they would have no clue. No member of this forum would ever do that but people (non members) roam forums all the time and who knows. I agree, blocking out license plate numbers makes no sense.
  4. Yes it's pretty much what I figured. May never get an exact match. But I am getting some pieces here and there and who knows may actually get lucky on a match. Otherwise it will be a "close enough" kind of thing. These are the last item to go on the truck in the future but best to get them now. Who knows how long they will be available. Another thing I wanted to add to my original post which is totally unrelated but a bit of trivia. A common practice at least in 1989 in Southern California was an extra sticker marking up above MSRP. Most of the dealers I went to it was $1,000 or more. My closest dealer whom I kind of liked anyway had a letter taped in the windshield to the effect of "We do not mark up above MSRP. We do not do business that way" signed by the owner. So he is the guy I am going to deal with for sure. No Eliminators around. One in Colorado and one in Hawaii. So they tried and after a few days or so I got a call "found one in Orange County and it's still on the car carrier". I told the dealer, get it. This picture below was what it came with. Ouch! No I did not pay that markup. Just a bit of trivia of how it was back in the old days. Ha! I removed dealer name from image.
  5. New member, so bear with me. 89 Eliminator manufactured 05-04-89 and I bought it 05-31-89. Now has 268291 original miles but has been stored in my back yard for several years. Hasn't been started in at least 2 years (battery died). Will be starting any repairs needed and restoration. That will be another post. I have questions of meanings on the window sticker. I requested a "build sheet" from Jeep but haven't received it yet which should answer some questions? First what the beast looks like now. I know, it isn't pretty. So Cal truck, High Desert, no rust. When I bought the truck I was told it was a 3/4 ton shortbed (SWB) with a 5,000 towing package with a Dana 44 Limited Slip. So I pulled out my nice imitation swede Jeep pouch and took a look at the window sticker I put in it. Note: I blanked out the dealer on this sticker for now. The questions are what does towing package B mean versus A or Z? What does Eliminator package II mean versus I or III etc. Also, anybody have any idea how to obtain a trim and decal kit for it. I can't find any information on the net. I may have to go to a decal maker and have them custom made. Ouch! But that's much later. Got to get it up and on the road first. Thanks
  6. Stock: 89 Comanche Eliminator 2WD 3/4 ton shortbed with 5,000 lb towing package. A/C, cruise control. Metallic grey, grey interior. Bucket seats. Interior in good shape. I6 4.0L, Japanese tranie, Dana 44 LS Built 5-89. 268291 original miles. I am the original owner. Bought it new right off the car carrier. Located in the Antelope Valley (High Desert) Southern California (no rust). Runs but parked in my back yard for several years. Needs some work and restoration. Am waiting on "Build sheet" from Jeep to find out the cam number (suspect #2), tranie model number and made by Ashi??, part # for the heavy duty Dodge Van brakes it has, etc. This is all factory.
