Aftermarket taillights on a Comanche?
CJ's 89 MJ replied to DirtyJeepGuy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They will look like this. they are selling them for $150. You can find them on Facebook. -
Oh ya I agree. Your's are very nice. Of that was something that's offered I would strongly consider it over what's being offered. I just posted them as an option.
-
He is asking $150 for the boxes. The lights are purchased separate. So you can select color of your choice. If anyone is interested just let me know. Or you can find him on Facebook Mikey Brandvold or under T&M metal fabrication.

There isn't much wrong with my tails but I'm always looking for something to make my mj stand out more when possible. With the tail lights being hard to find and getting more and more expensive I see it as an alternative.
-
This is what he has came up with. Running led's. I'm interested in a set when he gets them finished.
-
Hey guys just kind of looking for opinions about this set up. See if anyone would be interested in them. This is mainly a mock up right now. I'm not the one doing them but a buddy of mine is making them. With our tails getting harder to find I am really leaning towards installing them on my 89. Any feedback back is welcome. I will pass it along to him. Thanks.

I can point you in a direction to get one. I have bought a lot of stuff from Kody. 9 times out of 10 he will have what you are looking for. If he doesn't have it he knows others who may have it. I would not even have fraction of the stuff for my truck I needed if it wasn't for his help. Shoot him an email at kk02108@gmail.com One plus is he is always willing to ship. I'm located in Guam. A tiny dot out in the middle of the ocean. He always ships quickly which is a huge plus for me. Good luck I hope he has exactly what you are looking for.

I just picked my kit up today. I'm looking forward to the weekend for sure. Will be plenty busy working on the truck over the next 3 weeks. Will be putting on this kit along with the new rubicon express lift, fixing my interior some. I've been buying parts for close to a year now and really excited about finally getting to put it to use. Besides that my wife will be very happy to have space back. I have comanche parts all over the place. :)

My kit is still in transit I am expecting to get it the 11th. I'm planning on installing the following week. I will be taking leave from work then so pretty good timing. It takes a little longer to receive anything shipped here being so far away from the states.

Oops that didn't post right lol let me redo it
-
This probably isn't the best choice of an example but it's what I was sent. I will say it's unique.
-
We were discussing that as well. I offered to send my spare tail lights to him so they could use them to mock up. I want the same thing as you. I was told they have access to an MJ to take any required measurements.
-
Thanks. I was talking with Mikey today and I am trying to set up a discount exclusively for our members. I will keep everyone posted on the status. Once it's available I will pass the information along to everyone.

I was very impressed with them most places simply tell me that we don't ship to Guam and that's the end of the conversation. These guys went out of their way to make sure I got what I wanted. Not very many companies do that anymore. I was so impressed with them I am ordering one of their custom grilles. I am asking them to do one as a flag. I want something unique and I think it will really stand out. Once it's made and I either get pictures of it I will post it.

Here is a link to their site if anyone is interested. Pictures and prices are available there. I recommend talking to either one of them more than likely will get a better deal. http://www.t-mfab.com/store-3/mj-unibody-stiffiners/

Hey guys I found a place based out of Oregon that sells frame stiffener kits. They are some great guys. I live on Guam and they went out of their way to ship me the kit. I just ordered it so I haven't received it yet. I bought 14 piece kit and a door frame stiffener kit as well. Everything is a weld on kit. From my understanding this is an entire frame kit. If any body is interested you can find them on Facebook. T & M Metal Fabrication. These are MJ specific kits. They also have other kits available. I recall a few guys looking for something like this not to long ago. Hopefully this helps out.

I have checked that one out, originally it was posted for 400. The wife and I went down and looked at it. I was thinking about buying it to have a back up motor for mine. After looking at it that's about the only thing that is usable. I already have most of the parts I need for the upgrades you mentioned. The interior isn't in very good condition. I may contact him again since the price has dropped some. See if he is willing to deliver.

I frequently check craigslist almost daily. I have found stuff there I have bought even though I wasn't really looking. Occasionally stumble across something that's to good to pass up. When it comes to part outs I haven't seen much I could use. Normally I see Toyota and Nissan as parts. I actually ran across a couple of seats as well. They ended up being about same condition as mine. I check out the paper from Andersen base. I work there and have easy access. Very excellent suggestions thank you.
-
Thank you for the suggestions I will check them out.
-
I'm located on the island of guam. I use the mobile site because I use my phone for Internet access. The profile option isn't available. The seats were put in by a previous owner and they do not function at all. They don't adjust and they have plenty rips and stains. That's why I am looking for alternative seats. If seat covers were an option I would have taken that route.
-
Hi guys. I am needing to replace my bucket seats but can't locate any here on island. Our only junk yard here claims they have no jeep parts at all. So I am looking for an alternative seat I might be able to find easier. I have thought about buying them back there but the shipping is to costly. They are to big for usps and fed ex and the other shipping companies charge outrageous on prices. A while back I was looking at a lift kit and ended up having a member help me out with that. Fed ex quoted me 1400 to ship the lift. Thanks to Kody I only ended up paying about 250 in shipping. So if anyone had recommendations on bucket seats to try please let me know. Thanks. CJ
