Honestly, that price to paint is about right. Hah would never expect that! With the cheapest paint I could get it done for $1900,but I'd rather save some more cash and get a decent paint. Still thinking about what color to put on it, was thinking white with black details, but yeah idk. Thoughts?

Hello! Found some non original bumpers on eBay, but I'd like to see if any of you guys would be so kind to sell me a used one, and have it shipped to Norway. Impossible to find parts for it around here

Removed bed. Frame is in perfect condition. Need a new rear bumper and brackets for it. Will wash it tomorrow to get ready for paint of frame.

Today I got a price for a full repaint. So that you guys might understand just how expensive things are in Norway, a full repaint costs $1265 - if I sand everything myself, AND buy the paint myself. Insane.

:agree: The more I look at the pics the more I like both the interior and the truck. It's strange that such a high-option truck has the 2.5, but since it's an '86 that's a good thing. Regarding the body parts, I would suggest that you don't use RockAuto for them. In my experience they don't fit all that well (they work, but the headlamp door trims are ever slightly so wide, etc). Like so: See that the driver's side headlamp trim really doesn't look right. It also sticks out too far. This may or may not bother you; just letting you know that the RockAuto parts may not fit as well as they should. I would suggest looking to see if someone on here has the OEM parts you need. If they're willing to ship to Norway, it may be a good bit cheaper than RockAuto (since you won't have to ship by air) and you'll be getting the (much higher quality) original factory parts. Since there is no donor comanche anywhere I can get, I was planning to set up a list of parts I need, and ask some of you to ship it to Norway. For example I don't think I'll ever be able to straighten out the rear bumper... I can find new ones on eBay, but it's not original and they look "dull" IMO. So a complete rear bumper would be nice to have shipped here...

My problem with trying to find parts on rock auto: The price kr564,31 to kr3945,7 when shipping is added.... Its INSANE. The shipping itself is $425 !!!

Already found a Cherokee donor! They were relatively popular around here, since I live in a "wild" region of Norway, they were perfect cars for the arctic climate. Comanches though... I understand the headaches of owning an uncommon vehicle. Aside from my Comanche, my project car is a vehicle that there were only 2000 sold in N. America between 1988 and 1989. Of those, maybe 500 are left. You learn how to adapt lol Well I've heard that there's only about 30 comanches left in Norway, and its not very easy to travel long distances here :???:

Thanks! =D Yeah I was hoping you guys would be able to do so, because I can't tell at all just by looking at it, haha! Also there was a quiet descriptive manual with the box with parts in it! As much as I love the retro paintjob on it, I have to sand it down and give it a new one. Its a 30 year old car, and PO used it as a work-truck (specifically transporting stone etc for a house he was building), so the paint is pretty beat up! There is quiet a few dents on it as well that needs to be worked out. But all in all its in great condition! And the interior looks nearly untouched - but I must admit I hate the red :( As for the engine it has only clocked around 90k, which should mean that it still has a long way to go as long as parts are being replaced! PO replaced all belts on it, so those should be fine!

Hey guys! I recently discovered that I have an interest for working on cars, while I was helping out some friends fixing up an old Chevy Beuville (84'). So the past few months I've been considering if I should get an old pickup or something like that, to fix it up, repaint, and then sell it. And a few days ago I saw there was a guy selling an old Jeep Pickup in the next town, and it interested me because I had never seen one, so I bought it! Now, as the title says, I'm norwegian. I don't know if you know too much about Norway, but everything is basically f***** expensive. I didn't realize this car was so rare. In fact, if you guys think this car is rare over the pond, imagine how rare it is around here! I've been searching for comanches in Norway, Denmark and Sweden - results: 1 complete car in norway, sells for $6500. 1 complete car in Sweden, sells for $4100 (to get it into Norway would cost a lot in fees though). So yeah, not a single donor car online! I won't bore you too much with all this, but to make it short: selling it with a profit is a big no-no. I will dedicate my wallet to this beauty, I'll make her a queen on the road. Problem though: I have very little experience, except for bodywork. All the bodywork I can do, even the paint. Everything mechanical I don't know much about, but then again I took on this project with the purpose of learning, and after looking through a bunch of you guys' threads, it seems that theres a lot of good documentation! And I hope that some of you will be so kind to help me get the parts I'd need without tearing a hole in my wallet! Anyways, here are some pictures of the car as it is right now! ^ WATER, NOT CRACKS!! ^ Sorry I wasnt able to rescale images! But yeah, I hope you guys can give me the support and help I need to complete this project. Because of where I live, it will be expensive, but hopefully worth it! Plans: - Fix dents, remove rust, repaint - Fix all "technical issues" - Get a new rear bumper - Recolor interior (thoughts?) - This list will be much longer once I start working on it... Oh and the PO sent this with the car: Problem is I don't know where half of it goes, haha! Anyways, wish me luck!
