Thanks for the feedback guys! As of now I've decided I'm going to try and sell them and make a couple dollars to put towards 1 tons. Its time to go big or go home. I don't want to be broken everytime that I go out!
-
Good deal. That sounds like a good idea. That way I'd be able to use that carrier and install 4.88's. What is the lug nut pattern on those axles?
-
Yeah I'm thinking maybe I should justpart these axles out. Surely the lockers are worth a few bucks?

So here are some pictures. Can anyone identify the locker and gear brand. Obviously the carrier and gears are junk but I'm sure the same brand gears are up front. Basically I want to know if thy are good gears or knock offs.

Well for now I'm gonna throw the dana 30 in and look around for a 44 for the rear! I'm hopeing to get my axles under it in the next month. I have high hopes of wheeling all summer!!!!! I just finished building my own radius arms up front and doing the rear SOA swap. So its hard to tear it apart again but I should have gotten lower/locked rears to start with!!! Here it is the way it sits now. Sitting on 40's

So if I decide not to use the 35, whats my best option for the rear axle while still retaining my 5x4.5 bolt pattern? How well do the 30's hold up? I really havnt heard much about them. I just keep hearing that the 35 is junk to build uo???

Ok guys so here's an update.... The rears are out of a 93, sorry for the typo! I've decided I'm just going to strip all the factory perched and shock mounts snd so on off of them and weld new spring perches om the 35 and weld up some new brackets on the 30 to work with my radius arms. I want to add that the 35 needs gears. Has a couple chipped teeth. The rear has a ratcheting locker and the front has an ARB but he is keeping the compressor. They were in a jeep he bought and he swapped them out with stock 4.10's. Hed just looking to sell quick to get cash. I know they are not the best acles to build but for $300 I can't pass. The lockers are wortg that much each!

So I found a dana 35 and 30 on craigslist witg 4.88 gears and air lockers. $300 for both. They are out of a 97 yj so they won't bilt under my mj without some modifications. My question is will the gears, carriers and axles swap into my 88 dana housings?

Thanks a ton !!!!

So last night I finally got my front and rear rake hoses installed after I did my lift. When bleeding them I blew a rear line! I'm away from home and want to pick up brake line but can't remember the size. Does anyone know off hand? Thanks

So I found a guy local who has a few set of orange top 19lb ford injectors. He says $25 and if they don't work I can either hve my money back or he will let me find enough that fire good. He has a handful of them, and says they are all from running vehicles. If i purchase o rings for my 89 comanche, will they work for the ford injectors?
-
So i went ahead and got a noid light. I'm getting a bright light everytime. I went ahead and installed the new sock and filter. Upon cranking, I still have no start issues. I do not have a fp gauge that will hook to the test port. Just pushing the schrader valve gives me a ton of fuel? So who thinks my injectors are trashed?
-
Can someone explain to me how the injection system works? What relays or fuses are incorporated in that system? I recently bought my mj as an offroad buggy. Previous owner swapped an ax15 into it in place of the ba10. When he did it he used the wrong flywheel. So i went ahead an swapped it this weeked. Along with a new fuel pump too! Its got good spark but It still won't fire. But will on ether starting fluid??? So how do I go about diagnosing my fuel problem? Thanks

89 MJ ax15 swap... What pilot bearing/bushing???
Herada12 replied to Herada12's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks guys. I went ahead and put it back together. Kind of tricky with no alignment tool but I got it!! -
So when I bought my MJ ot was not running. Come to find out the guy that swapped the AX15 for the BA10 used the wtong flywheel. So today I got my correct flywheel and tore the tranny back out to swap flywheels. Upon inspection, the crankshaft has no pilot bearing, just a brass bushing. It seems to have the same inside diameter (3/4") as the input shaft on my ax15. So does that mean there is no needle bearing? Or is something majorly wrong here? Any help would be great. Ive been searching for a few hrs with no luck.

My $300 comanche offroad project

Do you think I will have to be super concerned about my tracbar and steering bar angles? Its just an offroad mud ad rock buggy. So if it has a few poor handling characteristics it won't upset me. I've seen a few xj's that the angles didnt match up and they said that they didnt have any problems. What are my options for doing an OTK steering setup. I really hate to spend the money on a kit. I'd rather build somethig. -
My $300 comanche offroad project

So I went ahead and fabbed up a new trackbar bracket and shortened my stock one and sleeved it with 1" pipe. I had intentions of making one with greasable hyme joints but since this is a budget build and I'm figuring on tearing these up and swapping in some different axles later, it should do. Just another picture. Seeing what kind of flex I could get sitting in the garage tonight! On another thought. Who has any ideas for steering for me? I'm not going to be able to make this work well even with a drop pitman arm. Someone chime in haha -
