  1. Hey guys...my wipers are not working right..when I turn them on they go up half way on my windshield and stop..I think it may have something to do with this fuse(?) on the bottom of the fuse box..here's a few pics..
  2. Does anyone have a diagram of the fuse box for an 86? I can't read the letters on mine..the white paint is scratched off on most of it. I'm trying to find if their is a fuse for the inside lights/dashboard lights.. Thanks in advance Salty
  3. Not sure if this will be any help...but I had a similar problem with my Tj..I had replaced the tps numerous times because I was fed up with the problem lol..turns out it was my o2 sensor. After putting a new o2 sensor on I haven't had that problem since. Try disconnecting the wire to the upstream o2 sensor and see if that helps.. When I tested my tps sensor the instructions said to watch the volts as you slowly open the throttle with your finger and the volts would go up gradually...I think it stops somewhere around 5volts..Hope this helps
  4. Oh...sry I really need to set up my sig...its a 2.5l 86
  5. Anyone know where I install a temp gauge probe? Never added one before ...
  6. Yea they said it was rebuilt..I did find the belts that I needed...but now I have a bigger problem..they had this thing so rigged up that the pulley tensioner is rubbing on the belt that goes from the a/c to the alternator...I installed them and drove it down the road a mile or 2 and the long fan belt snapped off bc I had it loose (bc the tensioner was hitting the smaller belt and tearing it up)...do you guys know of a place where I can get a different type of pulley tensioner that will fit my 2.5l block?
  7. Hmm well is there suppose to be something connected to that tube? It smokes a lot lol
  8. Here are some pics..
  9. Ill check it out more when I get home..maybe he added the a/c?
  10. Does it have the v-belts or the serpentine belt? It looks like it has a v-belt going from the a/c condenser to the alternator and there's a different belt for the rest of it..Sorry, I haven't really done much engine work before... Here's a pic, not the ones you guys wanna see of the problem but of my 2 jeeps Btw thats not me in the bed that my cuz
  11. Hmm, ok I'll check that later also. Thanks for the help so far guys
  12. Also do you guys know what the belt is called that goes from the alternator to the a/c condenser? Its starting to fray..it looks really short.
  13. Ok, when I get home today I'll take some pics.
  14. Hi people I'm new here :wavey: I just got an 86 Comanche and put on a new valve cover because the previous one was warped on one side causing a leak..I can't seem to get the Jeep to go over 40-45mph (not sure if my speedo is correct)..now I have noticed that there seems to be 1strait pipe thats cut right at the engine..but there is a separate manifold going to the tail pipe :huh???: I don't know what this guy was thinking lol..its the first cylinder that has no manifold...he said the engine was rebuilt recently.. What do you guy think could cause loss of power? I have noticed a hissing and some vacuum lines are disconnected so that does need to be taken care of but I wouldn't think that would cause this much loss of power. Also, I haven't had a chance to do to much work on it so excuse my ignorance..but there is some type of linkage under the the throttle body that is just hanging there nothing is connected.. Any help is appreciated.. Edit: Forgot to mention its a 2.5l Thanks Salty
