  1. Now ladies calm down! I came here to get advice not to start "internet fights"
  2. Thats what i thought so thats why i was asking if i had to stick with the renix or i could go newer without replacing a bunch of other things to when theres no problems with anythig else
  3. Well iv been dealing with that high idle for a while and after tryin just about everything i can think of i decided to make sure the throttle butterfly was adjusted correct. But after looking and feeling the inside of the throttlebody were the butterfly is it seems to be a little wore like the butterfly was rubbing on the inside of it. Unless its suposed to be like that i supose I'm not real sure.
  4. I was just going to stick with the intake i have. don't feel like spending the money right now
  5. Alright thats all i was wondering. Thanks
  6. I have an 88 cheif 4.0l just wondering if i coukd use the throttle body off a newer (96 or so) 4.0 or if it has to be a 88-91 throttle body.
  7. I don't blame you lol. But thats what i was guessing its because its a manual
  8. I wasnt sure what to do so i just taped them up and push them aside.
  9. Looks like a black and yellow wire on the firewall side that runs into the c101 but not out and a orange, gray/black, and red on the engine side that do the same thing. Go onto the c101 but don't come out the other side
  10. Well c101 elimination went very well. I didnt kno what to do with them extra wires i had so i just cut and taped them. But it still idled to 2000 at start up and went right back down again. Had a great idle cold( about 800rpm it was at about 900 to 1000 befor)and everything seemed perfect until it started to warm up. seems to idle fine until i drive it warm. Still idles at 1500 warm. I checked the tps(0.80v) and i double checked sensor grounds after i was done. Do i maybe have to reset the tps again? Otherwise I'm think something like the map sensor or o2 sensor. Mabe i should triple check the grounds i cleaned as well. Or maybe theres other grounds i didnt clean up? I started to notice a little missfire at idle earlier this week. Could the fuel pump cause a high idle?

  12. Just got done with the c101 elimination and it went pretty smooth following your directions. Started and everything seems ok but i havnt had a chance to test drive it and get it up to temp yet because i have to finish a few things. One question tho. I have 4 extra wire that were on the c101 3 on the engine side and one on the firewall side. But the don't go to anything. Should they have wires going to them or is it possibly because i have a manual tranny and no cruise and what not?
  13. Awsome! Thanks you guys. I will give this a shot this weekend and get back to you on how it went.
  14. That looks pretty good to me. I will give it a try!
  15. Thats what i thought just had be be sure.
  16. I might be doing it this weekend. So what do i do with the two brown wires with white stripes that go to the 3 wire crimps?
  17. If you wouldnt mind that would be fantastic. Could use all the help i can get
  18. Well its probably something i will get at this weekend. I'm going to clean the c101 again and test the sensor grounds in case i missed something and see what happens. But i think I'm going to bypass that either way.
  19. That was my next thought. Thanks for all your help so far.
  20. Reset the tsp and its about the same. Tooks the throttle body off and cleaned it out again to make sure and reset the tps and still didnt help. Tried spraying carb cleaner around the intake, vacuum harness and throttle body and the idle didnt change any. My plugs are turning white to. I beleive that means it running to lean?
  21. Well on start up it will rev to about 2000 but drop right back down right away(i though it might be normal since the girlfriends 92 cherokee does it as well) but otherwise its kind of random. Sometime it will run fine and sometime it will idle high. Mostly acts up when the engine is warm tho.
  22. But yes ot checked out ok. I was thinking about eliminating the c101 but I'm not sure at this time. I will set the tps about 0.82 and let you kno what happens. Could that small of a change in voltage make it idle the way it is?
