Tre And Ball Joint Advice Needed
Bigsarge173 replied to Bigsarge173's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would like to thank everyone who took the time to give me some advice. After a few days of reviews and your info. I went with Mevotech MK3161T and MK3134T My reason why: Price did play a major role. I got a great deal on EBay for the set. Only $80 shipped. But I liked the company design metal on metal bearing and greasable clean up boot cover and most important zero bad reviews. I will let everyone how they are on the road as soon has I have the eliminator up and going. -
Tre And Ball Joint Advice Needed
Bigsarge173 replied to Bigsarge173's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Has anyone dealt with MAS industries ball joints? I looked at their website and they look solid. Just not many reviews online. -
That's what the lady at the DMV said till I told her what it really means. I'm in Chicago

So I'm at the point that I need to order some ball joints and tie rod ends for my eliminator. I've been surfing the WWW and looked at some reviews. I'm leaning towards Spicer Ball Joints over Moog, but would love to hear everyone's ideas or recommendations on this. I don't want to go over $120 on the set so Synergy are out. Plus I'm not going to be off roading (unless we have zombie outbreak) I have no clue about what to buy when it comes to TRE's. I did get energy suspension poly boot covers in the kit I bought. Please help me make up my mind so I can sleep tonight. Thanks!

I wanted to make it 92 MJ but the DMV has stupid rules about letters before numbers.

Rubicon Monotube / Bump Stopper Question
Bigsarge173 replied to Bigsarge173's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Where is a good place to buy the pucks? -
So I'm running into a problem. I already have the Rubicon Monotubes for a 3.5" lift. I only want a 2" lift on the my MJ. I called Rubicon and the rep didn't sound like he was sure but he said that I can do a 2" lift but I need to put on bump stoppers. He said that lots of people run with bigger shocks all the time. Can anyone advise me? I was about to order the a budget lift (spacers and add a leaf) kit from EBay but I want to see what everyone has to say. Thanks!

So..... Now that I have the tires on, I feel like only going with a 2" lift. Saves money and I think it will look good. My issue now is that I already have the Rubicon Monotubes. So the question if anyone knows. Can I still use the monotubes that are meant for the3.5" lift and just go with the spacers in front and then just add a leaf in the rear? I called Rubicon and the rep said just to shock bump stopper. I've never heard of that. Any info will help. Thank you!

I might just go with a very nice Hella set with covers I saw on EBay.

I can't seem to find any on eBay. Must be very hard to find.

Yup.... I will have to wait and see if one pops up

So I went looking for some tires on CL for my MJ. I have it up on Jacks so I was kinda in a tough spot because the local police like to bust balls. I found a set of Goodyear Wrangler GS-A 30x9.5 but only 3 were in good condition. The 4th one is bad, maybe about 30% left and balding on one end. Thinking that I was going to be able to find one easily I bought the set anyway. I had no idea that they stopped making them and no tire shop has any. Now I can't find any place or person close enough that has one. They are all 1 1/2 + hours away. FML!

I saw these fog light covers on the eBay. Wondering if anyone knows more about them or how to find some.
