  1. It was out at Tahuya State Forest near Belfair on the Kitsap Peninsula.
  2. Took the truck out camping this weekend and took it offroad for the first time to test it out. It did pretty well need to mess with the suspension a little.
  3. Finally got the 32s mounted, still need to add some more lift in the front and drop the rear down a little. Also got all of the lights mounted on the roll bar. I have a problem I can't say no to free or cheap lights. Also, the front wheels appear to be tilted a little, any ideas what might cause this, bad ball joints bent housing?
  4. Yep, I did the swap of all the wiring to go with the new motor and dash. I have all the gauges working except the fuel gauge. I still need to figure something out to get that to read correctly, probably using a micro-controller since I am an Electrical Engineer with micro-controller experience.
  5. I live up in Seattle.
  6. Picked up a new toy for the rear end, got a deal I couldn't pass up.
  7. Thanks for the compliments. The front wheel looks funny in that picture but I didn't notice anything when driving and will take a closer look at it in the morning. I will eventually swap to the newer doors, but I need to find a good set and save some cash to get them painted to match.
  8. Then there is a long period with no pictures, which is when most of the work was actually done. The transmission went out on the truck and instead of just replacing it I decided to go all out. I picked up 1997 Cherokee that had been rolled and started the process of moving everything over to the Comanche. When I was done I had moved the entire drivetrain, engine transmission, transfer case and both axles, and the dash to the Comanche. Along with all of the other small parts. Here is how it sits now. The exterior is pretty much the same except for more lights. And the interior is the most visible change. All of the major things are done but I have a lot of little things to put together, and some interior panels to paint. Next to go on are some 32x11.50 tires that I have.
  9. Once the new front end was installed it was off to paint. After Body work and primer. Final Paint. Added some new seats to replace the worn out bench.
  10. I have been meaning to start a build thread for a while and now that the major work on my Comanche is done I am finally doing it. The truck started as a 1988 2wd SWB truck. With my old 99 Cherokee. More Pics from when i bought it. The first project on it was updating the front end to the 97+ Style and painting some interior pieces.
  11. I just replaced my master cylinder and booster with parts from a 97 Cherokee. I have been bleeding the brakes and am still have some issues. The brakes work with the vacuum line to the booster disconnected, I can stop the truck when rolling. when the vacuum line is connected the pedal goes straight to the floor. Doies this mean that there is still air in the lines or do I have another problem?
  12. I saw this mentioned in the other thread, sounds like a good idea. I have mostly worked with the Cypress PSoC so I think I will try something similar with that. Here is what I am thinking. Since the gauge is basically a volt meter use the PSoC to read a voltage coming from the sending unit with an ADC. Take that value and use either an equation or look-up table in software to convert the value so it is correct for the gauge. Then output the voltage with a DAC. Once I get my truck running I will try it out.
  13. Does anyone have any information about this, I have seen several methods mentioned in build threds but no details. I have a fuel line from a 92 that I can hook up but i am not sure about the fuel pressure regulator.
  14. I am working on swapping everything from a 97 Cherokee into my 88 Comanche. I have most of it set up, but have a few questions about the fuel lines and pump wiring. I have read that I can use the pump from the 88 and splice the wiring. Does anyone know which wires get spliced together? For the fuel lines I have read that I can use the fuel line from a HO motor to connect from the pump to the fuel rail. Are there any other changes that need to be made to work with the one line fuel system? I know that the fuel guage will not work correctly until I get a newer sender unit, but this is fine, I just want to get it up and running.
