HELP!! Cluster replacement issues
SchneiderFishing replied to SchneiderFishing's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just took a relook at this new cluster. There are no stop pins for any of the indicator needles. I can spin all of them 360 deg. ?? I don't think this is right. Maybe Don is right in thinking that this cluster is no good. -

HELP!! Cluster replacement issues

The latest The volt meter appears to work, temp gauge points to 7 o'clock fuel points past full mark, approx 2-2:30, oil pressure past 80 psi about 2-2:30. Tach idles below 0 rpm, and does move when throttle is raised. Have made sure that connection is good with plug. It can only go in one way. -

Update on cluster. Installed late yesterday. Temp gauge, fuel gauge, oil pressure, batt. charge gauge, and tach. all do not properly function. They energize with ignition, but spin 180 deg. out. Tach needle does move, but shows idle at <0 rpm. ????? -

Instrument cluster

What about the tach? I was lead to believe that the wireing and such for the tach would already have been in place just not being used? -
Anybody know where I can get replacement tail light covers? I've found replacement front corner light covers on ebay but never seen any replacement tail light covers.

Instrument cluster
SchneiderFishing replied to SchneiderFishing's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, my current 1990 4.0 Comanche Pioneer Long Bed model has column shift and the instrument cluster I purchased does not have the column shift indicator. My understanding is that in 1991 they went to a floor shifter for the automatic and they also changed some other aspect to the instrument cluster so that a 91 or 92 instrument cluster would not be compatible. Can anyone verify that they made a column shift cluster with regular gages instead of idiot lights? And of course if anyone happens to know of one for sale????? Thanks folks -
A few months back I purchased an instrument cluster for my 1990 Comanche Automatic. I wanted to replace the instrument cluster I had with idiot gages with one that had regular gages. Turns out the one I got was for a stick shift not an automatic. So do they make an instrument cluster for a 1990 automatic with regular gages? And if so, does anybody know where I can get one? Thanks

Do you have a web link for those Metric Tonne springs?
-
As I do a little online reading I tend to agree that the helper springs should be the way to go. Hopefully I'll get someone with some experience to chime in. Thanks.

Could be. Any suggestions on helper springs?

I was wondering what the opinion on shocks is. I've got a 1990 Comanche Long Bed 4.0 I am using it to tow a 21 foot bass boat. It seems to drop quite a bit when I put the trailer on. I have no idea how old the shocks are. Any thoughts on the best shocks for my situaton?

Every time I accelerate, even just a little, the heat or the air stops blowing from the dash and only blows through the window defrost vents in the top of the dash by the front windshield. Any ideas? 1990 Comanche 4.0 Column shift 4 wd

Question - Hesitation at first gas
SchneiderFishing replied to SchneiderFishing's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
replacing the O2 sensor in front of the cat. converter seemed to help alot -
Need some ideas. I've got a 1990 4.0 column shift long bed. When I come to a stop (sign or light) then go to give it some gas I get a hesitation (kind of a stutter). In the last few months the spark plugs have been replaced, the distributor has been replaced, the fuel injectors have been replaced, the gas tank has been replaced, the fuel filter has been replaced. Need some ideas? TPS??? Thanks

I've got a 90 4.0 Automatic. I'd be interested in the cruise control.

I haven't done it but have been thinking about it. I am interested in hearing an answer to this as well.
