  1. I was wondering if there is a thread/ write-up somewhere on a 2wd to a 4wd conversion? and I am also looking for a thread/ write-up on a 2.5L to a 4.0L swap? thanks
  2. nice Ill have to go check out that thread. Your not too far from me, in the summer I live close to Wichita and during school I'm at PSU. Yeah Ive been there once, and I'm planning on going again sometime in May if you'd like to join me and a couple friends, Ill let you know better details when I figure it all out. Have you been up to Kansas Rocks Park? I went to Frostbite '09 and it was fun, there were 200 and some rigs there. I got a good amount of damage to my KJ and it opened my eyes and I decided that I will be buying a second Jeep for off-roading, even though my KJ did awesome.
  3. no, I havent bought it yet and it is completely stock, I don't know if I will be buying it now, the guy is only asking $200 for it and its all there but he is taking the engine, and I am having a hard time finding a 2.5, so I think I might pass and just put that money into my KJ.
  4. did you buy it? where in KS are you located?
  5. what else is needed? This is just pretty much going to be my weekend warrior and fun toy, so I have plenty of time to wrench on it and I have access to plenty of XJs. So I need: 4.0L motor wire harness radiator supports MJ hood--does the XJ hood also fit it? AX-15 trans thats not too bad sounding lol
  6. I was hoping to keep the stock axles, the front is the D30 and the rear is a D44, for gears I'm not sure 4.56 or so
  7. I don't know the gear ratio or the tire size, the tires are probably about 29", the whole thing is stock, but I will be lifting it to fit ~33", so the 2.5L with a manual is pretty good?
  8. oh and also what all will I need to get the manual trans? obviously the manual trans itself and the pedals, clutch, flywheel, etc. is there a list somewhere of what Ill need? one more question, how good is the torqueflight 904?
  9. well poop lol. okay how good of an engine is the 2.5? and I thought the AX-5 was kind of crappy??
  10. haha thanks but its already too late, Ive already dumped a lot into my KJ. For my MJ front bumper it will more than likely provide great front end protection and be simple. I really like Reson46's, nice and simple, which is what I want plus some grill protection and a winch mount. here is the front bumper I made for my KJ, 90% of it is made from 2x4x1/4" C-channel, pure beef! :brows:
  11. I was wondering how hard would it be to convert the MJ from the 2.5L with the Torqueflight 904 to a 4.0L with the AX15? will everything bolt up or or will just cost too much to make it worth while? thanks
  12. thanks! I saw that on already, I guess right now I'm really looking for a front bumper, then Ill do a rear, Ive already got too much planned for it and I don't even have it yet :shake:
  13. Hi hows it going, this is my first post, and I don't have one yet but I'm hoping to this weekend. But anyways I was curious to see some bumpers that you have made or bought for your MJ, so I can get some ideas for my bumper when I build it. And if you could tell me what thickness of metal you used on it that would be great! thanks
