  1. The transmission and transfer case are already sold (Saturday). I have to account for my labor of removing them. I figured that since most of the above folks like to lowball on an already decently priced parts truck (hence the existence of this thread), I would inflate the price to account for that. That might have been the reason for so few replies. I do not respond to $300 offers, nor a candid "is this still available" email.
  2. Husky is okay. They are a bit overpriced for what they offer. If you are going to get an impact, I would suggest getting an Ingersoll Rand 231c (even if it's a used one of eBay). My little Husky die grinder is amazing though
  3. Oops. I'm the guy with the salty Comanche. It's from Michigan, so that's why it is so eaten with rust. I have pulled the AX-15 and transfer case now. I want to keep the 4.0 if at all possible. Sorry for not replying to those emails. I had too many people ask me if they could drive the thing home or come up and subsequently pass on it due to rust. So far, I have been offered $550 for the transmission and transfer case. Not sure if they guy will come through though.
  4. Thanks. My dad was really excited after he made it home from work. I told him that he couldn't drive it until we replaced the oil and filter. The previous owner didn't take good care of the Comanche, so we have a couple of maintenance items that still need replacing.
  5. Thanks for all the help. My dad sourced another computer (finally). Plugged it in this morning, got the check engine light I've been missing, gave it a couple turn overs, and it cranked! Had a lifter tick at first, but that's cleared up. Good to go.
  6. My dad sourced one from one of his friends. Jeep runs. Now I just need to find a place to hide this key until he changes the oil (he's a major cheapskate).
  7. I might try looking for a 94 model ECU. Not looking to spend a lot of money. What I've found on eBay has usually been expensive or from online junkers who won't warranty the part.
  8. All the maxi fuses in the PDC read 0.00 ohms on the 20k scale. The minifuses are new. Tested/compared pins on some of my spare relays and they all compare similarly with a multimeter. I also cleaned the corrosion off of/checked all the regular fuses in the interior firewall. I have a new coil installed, but was wondering if I could've bought a dud (at least, that's what my dad wants to think). It might be that the ECU isn't getting any power though. I've had it apart, and aside from looking at a big gel coating.. I could see one capacitor. It looked like it might've been leaking? It had a little brownish looking stain on it (can take pics if needed).
  9. I sprayed some contact cleaner in the ECU connector and cleaned it out with a brush. I didn't notice any recessed pins. I tested voltage to the coil again. The connector that comes from the harness and enters the coil measures a good 12 volts or more with just the key in the ON position. When cranking, it drops to 9.8 volts or so. I'm wondering if that's the norm, due to the starter. Still no spark. Is there any way to test the coil short of buying a new one? I'm starting to figure, if I get 12 volts to the coil then it should produce some kind of spark ( even at 9 volts??)
  10. It has a new coil on it that we got from Oreillys. It's only a few months old, and the truck was running (once upon a time) on it. I've still got the old coil too. I will try using it, though I don't hold out much hope. Do both the mounting bolts for the coil have to be in place for the coil to work? I've got it attached by a single bolt. I don't think it would matter.
  11. Hating my Dad's trail toy. :-(

  12. I'm in need of a good ECU/computer for my 1992 Comanche 4x4 4.0 6 cyl. Shipped to zipcode 35120 Have PayPal. Thanks in advance, monkbonk
  13. I replaced the CPS sensor today with a new one. Still not getting any spark from the coil using Geonovast's method above. I still am not getting any codes either. I'm thinking my next step is to replace the computer, followed by the distributor if that doesn't solve the issue. Edit: I also swapped the Auto Shutdown relay with another one.
  14. I tried getting fault codes again and got nothing. How do I test the CPS? I have a multimeter. Is there an ohm value I should be looking for? I'm not getting spark from the coil and the voltage seems to vary while cranking. It'll start at 12.something volts and fall rather quickly.
