  1. still need to get the 97 style valve cover soon
  2. Thanks man, I got the doors and seats for a good price and loved the color and decided to go tan half way threw. I'm going to try to paint the gray plastics tan unless i come across a good deal on the lower dash peaces and center console. I got the stuff off a 97 limited xj. i want to get 2 door switches and seat brackets to swap in to make it look and function right. I spent about an hour messing with it the other day and put the ext and intake manifolds on and hooked up the wireing harness. i hit the junk yard to get the right alternater braket and door striker. So tomorrow I'm going to get out there and make the doors able to stay shut and i can hang the surp belt. can't wait to drive this thing.
  3. i changed my mind half way threw on what color the interior shuld be. I'm going with tan now that I'm painting the truck white
  4. brakes set up clutch master cylinder in, steering chaft and wheel hooked up. dash in and wiring in the cab
  5. haven't ben on the jeep for a wile, i still have pics to upload and new progress to update. i had to take a brake from the project because my girlfriend got flung off her 4 wheeler and hit a tree fracturing her eye socket cheek and crushed her sinus. needles to say my attention has ben on her. I have got the heater core in for good all my holes made seat brackets in, floor pan done, undercoating done and the dash is all the way in. ive started on the wiring in the truck. next step is to finish sanding down the frame and por 15 this girl so i can finish making the brake lines and fule lines. pics will be coming soon.
  6. Thanks man its no fun to find the floors like that but its nice when its done. I'm thinking the rocker pannel is next to be replaced so i can cut the door james in and behind the cab so i can hang the bed back on.
  7. our 2000 xj getting valve cover gaskets
  8. I found some time to get out in the shop and got the doors hung because i had to push it out side for a night when i had to do some work on my xj. Now that I'm done welding in the floor pan, the seat brackets and extra bolt in the rear bracket i started seam sealing the floor pan to insure no water leaks. For extra protection i sprayed flex seal over top of the seam sealer, excessive maby but after replacing that much of the floor id rather it be the last on that truck.
  9. i got the pass side in today! no i can undercoat the truck spray the cab and cut in the door jams so i can hang my doors for good.
  10. Half the time google took me here anyways, and yea i saw some nice nice jeeps when i went looking around here and had to join. i got my seats and doors today and got the driver seat bracket tacked in place to tig it tomorrow. I ended up getting 97 limited power leather tans that are in ok shape. Now I'm realy getting excited to drive it again.
  11. Its coming together man that thing is going to look good with that color. ur not to far from me we should do some wheeling when we get thees trucks done.
  12. thanks man, I just bought tan leather seats and two clean white xj power doors with tan panels. I'm going to pick them up tomorrow so hopefully ill have some more pics in the pm.
  13. the last thing i have finished to date would be the floor pan on the driver side. it had rotted pritty bad i had to cut alot out. the four wheel drive linkage was about to fall off the truck due to rot.
  14. The steering wheel bracket was a little fun to figure out, with the help of trusty google i found some one who had done a nut an bolt threw the cowl and threw the kick panel. i had to space out the bolts from the cowl to the wheel sat right bolted in.
  15. On the right side the heater core needs one hole drilled for the core mounting bolts,( the right most bolt). i also made a 6 inch by 3 inch peace of metal with a brake up top like the factery hole had. i tac welded it in put the core in and taped it in untell it was flush with the seal to the point it will keep water out, took the core back out welded it solid seam sealed it and primed. u can see the brake i put in up top, real easy to do with a vice and hammer and adds strength.
  16. now for the fire wall differences. what i did was cut out a section of the xj fire wall. i cut out enough to get all the new shapes of the clutch master cylinder hole because th bolt holes are at diffrent angles, as well as the wire harness hole ect. i bolted the new brake booster and brake master cylinder to my fire wall with my donor patch on the inside to have the right placement of the holes. u can see on the mj fire wall u realy don't have to trim to much off that way u can keep ur fire wall strong. once i had it welded up i used urethane seam sealer for windshields to make it water tight and finished with primer to keep it fresh
  17. I have the 97 xj dash fitted in the truck as well as the steering wheel bracket mounts. The two lower main bolts i found right above the original bolt hole is a smaller hole where the wire harness has a clip that pushes threw the hole.i drilled that out and it ended up being the right height for the holes on the mj. for the top bolt holes i welded small tabs of metal under the window and drilled a hole in it and used the original fasteners for the dash.
  18. i just joined this sight so I'm going to put up some pics of what ive got done so far. i have the truck striped down to the core with out a wire from head light to tail light. I ended up using black semi gloss urethane wheel paint because its made to be dirt resistant and looks nice as a under the hood finish.
  19. I'm restoring and modding my 87 4x4 comanche long bed with a new 2000 front end fenders, doors, dash, seats ect. in doing so I'm also converting the truck to obd2. I'm re undercoating the truck and using pore 15 on the frame, and painting the engin bay cab ant truck. the jeep will have 5 inches of lift uner it. i plann on running 35s. i took the old renix motor out and that junk trans as well. i got an ax15 5 speed trans and a ho motor. I am learning alot as I'm going along and hope it ends up being a cool build.
  20. I'm doing a dash conversion right now i can pugt up some pics for u to look at for the 97 and up dash in the mj
  21. i finished welding in my floor pan i made.
