  1. Cool thank you, I guess I have something to do this weekend now.
  2. I have noticed as of late that when I come to a stop for about 5 seconds or so my brakes slowly lose pressure and eventually drop to the floor. I replaced my brake booster after finding this out because a friend of mine had a problem with the bladder in his booster and thought that mine my be going out, after replacing the booster and bleeding the brake lines from back to front it is still happening. I am not losing fluid since the level has been staying the same. Could I need to replace my master cylinder or could there be some different underlying problem that I am not noticing? Any help would be appreciated, thank you so much!
  3. After some testing and poking and prodding it seems that there is a crack near the neck of my coolant reservoir, also I noticed coolant near the bar that the trans mount is connected to. Seems pretty far away from the coolant tank so it seems plausible that coolant managed to travel down some hoses and wires and come out near the radiator. Not sure if that can happen but I'm going to replace the tank and see what happens. Thanks for the input everyone!
  4. I was checking out some thing under the hood to see if my fuel injector fiasco was over and I noticed there was coolant all over the place around the coolant reservoir. Also there seems to be leaking from the passenger's side of my radiator. Arg, should I get down there and check seals or would it just be better for me to buy a new radiator as soon as I can. I didn't see and exact spot in the area of the reservoir where the coolant might be coming from either.
  5. Thank you very much, I will probably just replace it when I get the chance to take care of it soon.
  6. After doing some work on my MJ recently (replacing my injector o-rings and fishing out one from my intake manifold) I have noticed that there is white smoke that seems to be coming out from around where the exhaust pipe and the exhaust manifold meet up. Is it just the gasket and if so is the exhaust going through that part supposed to be white or should be be a different color?
  7. Thank you, I will go over my lines and double check everything tomorrow. Hopefully its something simple that I can fix and be done with.
  8. After some snooping around I found that there is a tear in the connection hose that is located on the top of the engine that is forward of the oil cap, not sure if that is the source of the hissing but I'm sure that can't be good. If anyone knows what that part is called so I can try to replace it that would be awesome.
  9. So I found a problem with smelling gas when the truck is running and I traced it to the first fuel injector. I was about to get everything taken apart and put new rings on it. Now when I turn the truck on there is a very loud hissing coming from the engine and there seems to be vapor/smoke coming from the port of injector 4. Not sure what I did wrong but if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Did a search and nothing came up, What would you guys recommend for painting black plastic body parts (farings, grill, the little vent thingys near the doors) They are a little weathered and I wanted to add some life to them. Any suggestions?
  11. Cool, thank you. I will check into that tomorrow.
  12. I tried to search out this but wasn't able to find anything. Are the gauges in the dash back lighted or is there a separate light for it? I was driving really early the other morning and I turned on the headlights and there was no way for me to see my speed or anything. The previous owner seems to have drilled a hole in the are above the speedometer and wired what seems to be one of those lights that lights up the license plate, and wired it into an on/off switch. Just wanting to know before I try to put something less obtrusive in or if I should just trouble shoot and get things back to normal.
  13. So I guess I should just pull the oil filter adapter off and replace the seals while I'm at it? I guess since everything else needs replaced it seems I can get that in also.
  14. Thank you very much, sadly I already bought the mount and the oil filter is in the way so it seems like that its going to make the project a little more time consuming.
  15. I recently discovered that I need to change mine out and i'm going to attempt it on my own, are there any tips or tricks that I need to know before I go about doing this? Its for an 87 4.0L
  16. So I think I found the problem, There are the 2 wires that run down the radiator and when I turn the radiator fan I can hear rubbing at one certain point. That would explain the hollow metal sound that changes with the rpms if the fan is rubbing it at a certain point. It looks like the motor mounts do need to be replaced because they look pretty sad and deflated. Hopefully by changing them out it makes the fan stop rubbing on that wire and then problem solved
  17. I was thinking it was something that had to do with the trans mount since that was the only thing that changed. I will try to go out and check the engine mounts this afternoon, its not as bad as it was since I tightened up the cross member bolts. It sounds like a hollow rattling but it still goes with the RPM's.
  18. Got down and dirty today and I was not about to find any problems with the flexplate. I was a little oily looking down there but other then that things seemed fine. I have to drive to work and back tomorrow and I will keep an ear open for anything unusual.
  19. Thank you, I will try to see what I can in the morning.
  20. I feel really dumb right now but I can't seem to find the inspection plate. I am kind of dumb when it comes to this so all the help I can get would be good. I tried to look it up somewhere online and I wasnt able to find anything on how to do this. Also I'm not sure if letting it sit for a few days changed anything but I drive it up the road to check the noise and now all I can hear is a rattling coming from the front of the engine, it isnt causing vibration but I still sounds like it gets faster with RPM's, I also was able to tighten my crossmember and the transmission mount this morning because that was the only thing I did to the comanche before I started hearing the noise
  21. Good looking truck! I've only been here for a few days and owned my truck for about a week but they are aweomse and a blast to work on
  22. Happy thanks giving everyone!
  23. Will do! Thanks for the info. I will try to get out and check that tomorrow because the biting gnat things are killing me tonight.

    Thats awesome :rotf:
  25. So I recently changed out my transmission mount and fixed the rattling noise I was hearing. Now when I accelerate there is a vibration coming from the engine somewhere and it vibrates like a wave, the higher the RPMS the faster the vibration, it goes in a high low pattern, I can hear it when I'm idling but at that point it is constant. I don't think I managed to mess anything up when I changed the mount out but I might just be crazy. Any thoughts?
