  2. well,i haven't been here awhile, been working 18 hour days to pay for that 4.00 fuel, but got a up date on my 88,filled the motor up with 20/50 and a little this and that got it to stop knocking and rattleing, but puffs out white smoke like a steam engine, but took it to the mud bog run 3 classes with it,won 1st,2nd and best of show, trophys,i run with the big boys heavy chevys with 44's and big blocks, with my 4.0 and 36's and won 2nd place, out of 23 trucks, and IT IS FOR SALE!!!!
  3. thanks guys,i will try that, the thing has been known to get pretty hot,in the past, but i have no coolent loss,as for the injector staying open i will check it out tonight,GOOD POSIBLIDY,we have a mud bod coming up on the 29th of march,I'm going to trailor it there,if i blow it up,i have done found a 88,4.0 for $150.00,its supposaly, only to have 130000 on it,but like most i want MORE POWER,whats the differance in swapping out for a 4.0 ho?my brother has a 93 he wrecked and said i could have the motor?

  5. well, bad news, shes sick, first ride out, went thru big mud hole, and started then,so checked it out, fuel filter, fuel regulator and pump was shot, got that fixed, now knocking like hell, all that time and money sounds like from the top end, changed oil added lucus no help put 80/90 in it and quietened it down but smokes like a tar hill now,i guess i will be replacing the motor, any quick fixes besides ,a new motor???i didn't think so, but i just wanted to share the death of a cheap mj
  6. SORRY 'BOUT THE BLOCKS, I WAS THINKING OF A XJ WE LIFTED,BUT MINE IS SPRING OVER (NOW)WITH A SHAKLE
  7. just a ideal but,you can take f 150 coil springs and chevy s10 leaf spring(junk yard stuff)and you would have a 3 incher with a pretty good ride,Or put spacer in front and go to a parts store and buy 3 inch lift blocks for around 30 bucks, comes with new u-bolts,still pretty good ride,as of right now i have a homemade kit on my 88,took a foot of 3 inch steel pipe, freebie(local welding shop)cut in half,2 big washers,4 inchers($4.00 at tractor store),welded it to the pipe, and place on top of coil, rear have a 4 inch block,(30 bucks)with shakles($20.00)from parts store,$54.00 plus about 4 hours not bad for a six inch lift :chillin:
  8. here is after i got it home and pump up the tires, and a half azz wash here is after the first cutting and lift kit and on 36's still more to come gotta get a better camera
  9. thanks ya'll for ALL the opinions, nope i sold tail lights for 20 bucks, tail gate for 100 and rear bumper for 50,almost made my money back, will have more pictures this weekend,i have to upload the other one,and got to get it ready for paint, before and after pics will be postedby the way get your tissues ready its got 98352 original miles on it,the owner bought it new drove it around town, and then got bed fast, and his son moved it behind the shed and it got grew up around it,we was loggin the land that joined them and i finally stopped and ask about it,and bought it that day,by the way i live in north west georgia close to al & tn line :wrench:
  10. yeah it was in pretty good condition no rust,no dents, great paint job, everything worked,i didn't really realize, what kind of following was behind them,i should have sold it,or used it as a dd,but ol well can turn back now
  11. i bought it 2 years ago, pulled it out of the weeds,it's a 88,lwb,give 200.00 for it thought i might could sell it for parts, well a wash job, new fuel pump, and hot battery, fired right up so,i decided to make a trail rig here is a before and after, the after is a bit blurry by the way,it's a 4.0 4 speed, with 488's with lockers front and rear,3inch lift on 36's i cut 27 inches off the bed and deskinned it what ya'll think
