  1. thank you for the info.
  2. i am doing the infamous ba10 to ax15 swap. i have searched the threads and i cannot find the answer I'm looking for. are any of the parts associated with the clutch the same? flywheel--- clutch disc--- master cylinder--- bearings or bushings--- my truck is a 1989 4.0 2wd with the ba10 currently installed. before i buy a clutch kit or any parts i want to be sure I'm not wasting money bacause the clutch on my ba10 only has a couple thousand miles on it. if i can use any of the parts it would def help.
  3. i have a shifter for the ba10 tranny...you pay the shipping and its free. its from my 1989 comanche ba10 tranny. I'm swapping it out for an ax15.
  4. I am swapping out my ba10-5 transmission and i need to buy a new clutch for the ax-15 I'm replacing it with. how would i look it up. the ax15 is from a 1989 the same year my truck. will the ba10 clutch work? also what about the pressure plate?
  5. Just receieved my ax15 transmission today. can't wait to install it. now i need to get a new clutch and we should be good. feels nice to get rid of that ba10-5!

  7. I have a 1989 Comanche amc 4.0L ba10-5 transmission. I am happy to say I have an ax15 being shipped to me with clutch crossmember and all hardware. very cool. can't wait to get it installed. Thank you to JeepcoMJ! shipping it from WI to NY. If anyone has any insight on other parts I may need let me know. I have read most of the posts on here about the swap but i just don't wanna run into something major. I already know about the gl5 gear issue, and to change out the torx bolts to regular hex bolts at the top of the tranny. i do have a question though. Are the holes in the floor for the shifter the same? my truck is 2wd stock and its staying that way.
  8. ok thanks guys. can't wait to get this project done.
  9. i have a used ax 15 being shipped to me to replace the ba10-5. I'm looking for some input on what type of transmission lube i should use...brand, weight, amount of fluid? any suggestions will help whether its what not to use or what is best. thanks

  15. Well its time to breake my cherry on the what i did to my comanche today thread posting. I washed it this morning. :clapping: then wildman came down to my place which is a two hour drive then we went junk yarding after we compared them a lil at my house then took each other for rides in each other trucks  then we exchanged some parts it was a heck of alot of fun and we should get more meets set up. even if theyre not off road events...maybe even hang out at a walmart parking lot for a while and bs about our obsessions. now i have a steering box and a windshield wiper motor to install
  16. I have a 1989 Jeep Comanche 4.0 2wd pioneer. i broke the peugeot ba 10 in half and i was wondering if i need to do anything special to install the ax 15. its 2wd so i was thinking if i get the yoke with the trans it should bolt directly up. will the master cylinder work and should i get the clutch for the ax 15?
