Dash Gear Shift Indicator help?

Figuring one of the guys who have done a steering column rebuild or swapped one out can help me with this. Have a column shifter, and the gear indicator is hopelessly outta whack. 

 

Anyone got a decent break down of how to adjust/fix this? I assume it's some sort of cable adjustment, but I didn't know if it was in the column, or under the dash and figured I'd ask before I start tearing things apart. 

 

For reference, this is what my car looks like when it's in drive. Not exactly beautiful....
