It seems the previous owner who swapped in the now dead 93 engine did not upgrade the ECM. Anyone got a good one they're willing to part with. Shipping to 98042, Kent WA.

Not only because of transmission differences (auto or standard), Calif or not, RFI or not, etc. The 60-pin connector pinouts are different too. I tried a 93 ECU on my 91 and it wouldn't run because one of the ECU pinout functions appeared on a different pin and was mismatched to the 91 harness connector. If you have a 91 wiring harness, you will need one of the 91 ECUs. When we got the jeep, it had been swapped to a 93 engine (or so I was told) Guess I am going to have to read the stamping on it when we get it out this weekend for the swap. Not sure if the harness got swapped, I assume it has been since the 93 engine ran well for at least ten years before it died. At least I know what's going back in! Suppose I'll pull the ECU and research those part numbers above to see what I have now.
