79ford302
I have an 87 Comanche 2.5 base model. I'm adding power steering and overlooked 1 very important detail. I've installed my zj box and was about to install my junkyard ps pump and brackets and realized the donor had a v-belt setup instead of my serpentine setup. I found thru some searches a part number of 53003805 for the correct pulley. Most things I've read on here talk about a remote reservoir pump but the one I pulled from a junkyard has it built on to the pump. Actually it looks like the Saginaw pumps used on Chevys to me. Is that the correct pulley for that pump? Looks like it'll all bolt up fine but I need to get the right pulley for the pump before I take the belt off to install. HOrnbrod
53003805 is the correct pulley for the 87 2.5L PS pump according to the parts manual. Amazon has them among other places. https://www.amazon.com/Mopar-5300-Power-Steering-Pulley/dp/B0049EESWO/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Jeep%7C42&Model=Cherokee%7C347&Year=1989%7C1989&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=automotive
79ford302
Thanks I'll get it ordered. I backed it out of the shop with "new" zj box on there and all I can say is wow. Much quicker ratio than the old manual box can't wait to get the pump hooked up.
