Pasted below is my Craigslist ad.  I think I've finally decided to go a different direction for my DD....although I should add I will gladly pay anyone $500 if they think they can fix the stutter issue for good.  If you're in the South, I'll even deliver the damn thing.  PM me for more questions.

 

For sale is my 1992 Jeep Comanche Pioneer LWB. This is the last year of the Jeep truck, and in my opinion they should have never stopped making them. 4wd, Dana 44 read axle with locker, Dana 30 High Pinion front, 31" all-terrains, AX-15 5 speed manual transmission and Hurst shifter, 4.0L High Output 6 cylinder engine, factory cruise control (works!), 3" Skyjacker lift, NP231 transfer case, LED lighting, and Wicked Flow 2.5" muffler. Oh and a kickin' sound system (2 10"s behind the seat!)

The good:
Motor runs strong, has 200k on it and should go another 100k before needing anything done. Uses less than 1 pt of oil per 3000 miles.
4x4 works well, shifts easily, both hubs engage like they should and locker works in the rear.
Bed is Rhinolined and comes with Rhinoliner's Lifetime Warranty
Interior was re-upholstered in alligator leather and camo. Looks much better than I would have ever expected and has been very durable
Body is as clean as you could ask for on a 25-year old truck. No rust, only one small dent (about the size of a golf ball in front of the driver side rear light)
Every electronic sensor on the motor has been replaced in the last 1500 miles (6 months). New Cap, Rotor, distributor from a 94+ XJ, TPS, IAC, throttle body cleaned, coolant sensors, O2 sensor, even new fuel pump and strainer
Tires are in good shape, I have driven to New Orleans and Texas on multiple occasions.
Fluids all have been drained and changed in the last year. New fuel and oil filters. Brand new K&N air filter installed in May 2016.
Floor pans are fully intact and in good shape. Pulled the carpet in January and checked.
This thing sounds AWESOME!

And now the not so good:
A/C is non-functioning. I have all new parts for it (compressor, high side and low side lines, condensor, and coil) that were well over $500 to convert it to the newer 134a (old system was R-12)
Previous owner painted the whole truck rattle can matte Army Green. I think it looks pretty sweet but if you want a real paint job, all that crap has to be sanded off for urethane or whatnot to stick properly. Personally, I'd leave it and touch up as needed.
Transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced soon as the synchros in 1st gear are completely shot. When starting in 1st, you have a 50/50 chance it will "kick out" on you. I usually just start in 2nd gear to avoid this.
In cold weather, there is a grounding issue that causes intermittent stutter of the engine. I have completed the "Cruiser54" ground upgrades (google it if you want more info) and now believe the problem to be the old battery cables no longer make a good enough connection to the battery terminals. Like I said, I've driven this thing to Texas and back with no problems on one trip, only to have the stuttering come back as soon as the trip ends. This is why the truck is priced so low, I have been beating my head against the wall on this one issue and everytime I think it's fixed, bam! it comes back.


Pretty firm on price, if the last issue was fixed I'd already have the A/C in and be daily driving this beast. I even sourced a good AX-15 from a local yard for only $300 with a warranty so I could put that one in while I rebuilt mine. The truck also will come with a load of parts if you want such as a '99+ intake, throttle body, and electronics for an easy 20+ HP upgrade, a quicker ratio steering box (from a ZJ), all the aforementioned air conditioning components, several spare interior pieces (door handles, window regulators, trim screws....can't remember what else I have but I pull stuff from any MJ I find at the junkyard. You never know what you might need!)
