Electrical Woes

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I'm having a lot of trouble here and figured I would try you guys. I have an 89 Comanche Pioneer and the electrical in this thing is driving me crazy. I have no interior lights, no dash lights and the cd player installed by the previous owner is dead. Also, my right turn signal just stays on and doesn't blink, my left turn signal blinks like crazy unless my headlights are on in which case it stops blinking too and I also only have one reverse light. My gauges actually respond to the signal sometimes and my temperature guage will actually move with the left signal lights blink. I have replaced all bulbs to no effect and recently went through the truck and cleaned all the ground wires since a few friends have said that it sounded like a ground gone wild. Any help out there? I know that's not much to go on but I'm at my wits end since all fuses are good and all wires in tact.

Join the club, there are a few of us with your kind of problems!  I just starting taking my dash apart and I am starting to chase wires one at a time.  If the weather holds I am going to restore my fuse block.  Electrical gremlins just require some good old fashioned gumshoe detective work and a few tools.  The connectors and grounds are the two biggest culprits for most issues on these.

The fun part is driving with half a dash and a gauge cluster floating in mid air lol
