New to the forum, while working on this truck everything I would google would normally refer me to this site so I figured I should join. Great knowledge.

My Comanche was my first truck when I was 16 back in 2007, I had it for about a year before I got another truck, my dad sold it and I tracked the guy down he sold it to and found it sitting in a barn and he was using it as a parts truck. I paid $300 for it without wheels and tires. It did run and I was able to drive it around, lots of rust though and the body is in pretty bad shape. I have some great memories of this truck since it was my first and I'm glad I was able to get it back. I will post some pics soon after I figure out why the url tab keeps freezing.

Here's are the parts I've fixed so far

-water pump/ thermostat

-transmission extension housing

-rear brake lines/hoses

-rear shoes

-headlight

-u-joint

-oil/filter

-air filter

-blower

-rear diff fluid changed and resealed

Now what I still have to do

-tail lights

-wipers (need the 5.5 amp circuit breaker) will a regular fuse work?

-header panel (current one is cracked and a bunch of plastic is missing)

-radio installed (found an original at a junkyard)

-4x4 isn't working (when I brought it home it was in 4 wheel high and was working but when I took it out it won't go back in)

-dimmer switch when in a certain spot will heat up and begin to smoke

-interior is trashed but I have some of the missing parts

-body is extremely rusted so I'm thinking about cutting some of rust out

-turn signals won't work, they come on when I hit the flashers but don't blink together there offset.

If anyone see's a similar problem they have had that I'm having any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wow the body is really beat to hell, not a panel without multiple dents. Good project though.

Wish I could find my old High School truck. Lol. Good luck with the rebuild.

I should clarify that my defination of rebuild meant work on it till it will go up and down the road, gonna be a trapping/hunting truck so I'm planning on welding some cool stuff on, trying to figure out how to make a fake bear trap to put on the front grill after i get a new header panel. As far as the body goes it was the family wood truck for awhile so if there was a tree in the way it was ran over, buddy also dropped a tree on it at one point. It seems to run good, spits and stutters some when I start it so I'm not really sure where to check for that issue but will come in time.
