13 Legion
Well recently had problems with valve cover. Problem resolved no more leaks. As usual when one problem is fixed another one rears it's ugly head. Fired up the 2.5 and apparently someone swapped it out over night with a diesel. I am trying to diagnose this eerie sound and found a video on you tube that says the problem is(possibly) caused from a broken piston skirt? The engine has about 130,000 on it and other than a few leaks has ran good. How do I figure out if this is the problem? Drop oil pan and look for any shrapnel? My oil pressure seems good, so I don't think that's an issue. Anything else to check out? If this is in fact the case I won't be looking to rebuild, I will be looking for a 4.0 donor. I will search the forums for a good write up for this project. If I do end up doing this, if I swap a 4.0 with a 5 speed will I also need to take the drive shaft from donor. What is a realistic price I will be looking at spending? I know maybe putting the cart before the horse but I just want to start getting ready to break the news to the wife.. :shake: Not getting rid of this girl just yet...the Jeep silly. :rock on:
