Lee21490
So did some pretty lax wheeling today for a few hours, didnt really @#$% anything up or nothin. Hop on the highway to drive home hit about 48mph+ And the truck starts wobbling out of control, Gets worse the faster i go past 50. So i pull over check everything the best i can without a jack, Limp it to a buddies shop around the corner. Jack up the front end, Check the Track bar (Which i replaced less then a year ago) And its completely solid. No play at all. Check all the tie rod ends / steering linkage. Its all solid, No play in anything. Turn the wheel back and forth and nothing is sloppy (That i noticed at least) Spray off the wheels thinking i might have a chunk of mud throwing me off, Still has a wobble. So i've ran out of things to check atm.Any ideas?Might post up some pics if my phone doesnt die in the process lol
Jeep Meister
Sounds like you got a tire out of balance. You might have lost a balance weight or have some dirt packed in some were you can't see

Checked for the weights and they're still on there, Didnt see any bulges or anything obvious. Going to run down to the tire store and have them check it out. Hoping if its a separation its covered for free. I know its not mud, I took a hose to every single possible spot that could hold mud. Also; What part of washington do you live in? Jeep Meister
Hmmm idk then. I know when i first got my Comanche the rear wheel cylinder was leaking and i had it fixed and the old fluid that leaked out combined with dirt caked up on the inside of the rim and had to be scraped out with a putty knife and rebalanced. idk what the exact cause of your tire wobble is but it sounds like a tire out of balance. i know sometimes with the style rims you have got you got to get in the inside of the rim really good with a pressure washer because mud and debris can get caught in the inside grove of the rim and cause the tire to become out of balance. You might even try runnin a putty knife around the inside of the rim...idk just throwin ideas out there for ya... hope you can find out what is causing that wobble. I like your hood scoop. I'm out here in Woodland Washington just patchen up this old Comanche i got.

Sprayed it out good & ran my hand through it to make sure.
weishouse
i had an '87 comanche that did that when i'd go over a bridge on the highway. replaced the steering shock or damper (looks like a shock absorber mounted sideways),located between steering linkage and frame,i believe, and that took care of the problem. good luck.
