oldseddie
Does anyone know the difference between the three different clutch master cylinders offered for the 4.0. Is it the size of the bore, or a change in design of the pedal assembly? I'm getting ready to swap my ba10 for an ax15 and intend to freshen up the hydraulics while I'm at it. I have an 87 truck and an external slave ax15 and want to use the best MC for my application.
oldseddie
Bump time. Surely someone knows if a renix era MC will drive an external slave ax15 or not.
CRF136N
All I know is the ba10 master cyl in my '89 MJ is different in that it has a threaded fitting for the hydraulic line like brake lines do; the one to the external slave ax-15 has a different hydraulic line that is like a plastic line and uses a push in style fitting with a pin holding it in. I'd imagine the internal workings of the slave cyls are the same but the housings are different, and would be more work than its worth to try and adapt the hydraulic lines. The master cyl are only like $30-40 new and the lines are a bit more new but dirt cheap at wrecking yards...hell, I know I got at least one extra for the ax-15 around here somewhere...possibly even the master cyl too; there yours if I can find them and you wanna pay shipping...but the line is quite akward and would require a good size box so shipping may not be too cost effective. oldseddie
I appreciate the response. I plan to have an aeroquip line made up but If I can use the late model mc in my old renix pedal assembly, with the external slave it would be easier.
