Fuel Pressure

whats the fuel pressure needed for a 88 4.0?

 

what range does the  fuel regulator work in?

 

or, if i'm buying a aftermarket fuel pump what range of fuel pressure should i be looking at?

The RENIX system runs at 33psi + or - at idle with vacuum attached and 39psi + or -  at idle with vacuum line detached.  Unfortunately I do not know what the pressure capability of the stock pump is.  I'm sure someone will jump in with that value!!

Not quite sure what you mean by what range does the regulator work in.  The stock RENIX one is fixed at 33/39.  There is another for later years that is fixed around 43/49 I believe.  There are aftermarket ones that are adjustable but are fairly spendy, $150 and up.  Hope that helps some!!
