Okay, with the front drive shaft sitting on your work bench before you, how do you seperate the slip yoke? I'm assuming it has to do with the rubber-now-hard-as-a-rock-seal under the cap.

The last one I did it would slip to the seal fairly easily then stop. You can pull the one end past the seal but you might ruin the seal in the process. Is there a reason you have to separate the two halfs apart?
