airspeed
Remove the forward most bolt, or in my case the threaded stud. Reach in the hole with a wire and see if you can feel the bottom. If you had a wet bolt at one of those locations, with the engine running, you could see water bubbling out on the header when the engine is up to temp and under pressure. As it cools down it will leave a little puddle of water on the ground and then it stops until the next heat cycle.
54bobby
well both the front and rear exhaust mani studs are snapped off and there is no leakage. i take this as a sign that i have dry bolts right?
airspeed
That is good if there is no water coming out with the engine running and up to temp. I would think you would have a major exhaust leak... Where the problem will come if you take the head in for repair and the shop drills those studs through the water jacket, then you have a leak.
