TH Bertson
I have a 89 Eliminator that I swapped the drive-train, complete dash and the complete electrical system into. Everything came from a 2 door 95 XJ. I am at the point of addressing the fuel tank and sending unit. I want my gauge to read correctly. I have read everything from finding a 91-92 MJ pump and sending unit which I can not find, tinkering with the rheostat on the 89 sending unit, swapping the gauge from the 89 to the 95 cluster, replacing the arm on the 95 sending unit with the one from the 89, getting a new MJ tank without the pan inside and use the 95 unit, installing the 95 tank and sending unit. I do have the 95 tank, pump and sending unit. I am not opposed to getting a new MJ tank and using the 95 parts since the MJ tank has some rust on it under the mounting straps. I am just wondering what will exactly will work???
64 Cheyenne
I've heard of favorable results using a Dakota tank, pump, and sender. For the 95 conversion, on the 87, if I have any issues this is the direction I will go for the fix.
