BenThrashMJ
Hey, My names is Ben and I'm from Iowa. Ive been into Jeep and have built and helped build a few Cherokees. Picked up my MJ about 6 months ago and it has been sitting in the back yard since. i can't afford to fund 2 projects at once and my Cherokee will always be first in my heart so it comes first but is just about done. anyway on to the Comanche...its a 87 4.0 5speed Sportruck. Rust bucket is the best way to describe it really. Traded a 97 rust free XJ straight across for it which prob wasnt the best deal but hey i got myself a Comanche. Plans: SOA with a 8.25 or bigger in the rear want around 4-5" of lift fix cab corners replace floors relocate gas tank back under bed bumpers and all that good stuff the floors here's my XJ that i will probably paint he MJ to match
RockMJ
That XJ isnt a 97 but its interesting either way. Is that grabber green up top? Welcome to the club but I depending on the condition of the XJ I would have asked for some cash as well to afford those new floorboards! Good luck man RockMJ
Dadinator
Not sure, but I think that the XJ in the pic is the one he is keeping, not the 97 he traded for the MJ. I think you got screwed on the trade though... :dunno: Oh well, you have a MJ to work with... :wrench:
BenThrashMJ
oh i screwed myself on the deal big time. the xj needed a new rear end and some body work but i was in a hurry to get a comanche. i could have held out for a nicer one but oh well can't go back now. yes it is Grabber Green and its a 95. ive finally got alittle money saved up so i can start throwing stuff at the comanche and bring it back to life. gonna tackle the floors here in the next week or 2 so it is able to be driven. my big problem is i can't afford to insure 2 vehicles so I'm gonna have to pick which one is gonna be my DD and which will be a dedicated trail rig
BenThrashMJ
Well I moved a few months ago but finally just got the mj home last week...started the floor boards and am looking for a new rear end. I have decided its gonna be the dedicated trail rig and I'm gonna be less then modest on the lift and tires....I'll post pics when I get home with the progress
